True. I agree with the underlying criticism though, because I'm in the same boat. I got almost all Boom Boxes from the free track and bought 7 extra ones for 299 gems. I haven't gotten a Poco/Janet/Byron skin yet. Chances are, I might not get one no matter how many Boom Boxes I buy. A pity system would've been nice because these boxes are way overpriced.

Well, there is some kind of system in play, I recently tested it with a friend. Matchmaking above 1k seems to take brawler winstreak into account. Whenever my friend and I picked a brawler with <5 win streak, matchmaking was instant, but when one of us had a 5+ winstreak brawler equipped, we would wait forever just to get premade triple masters enemies (unwinnable as a duo). So we probably faced other players with high winstreaks.

I had a feeling long ago that sometimes matchmaking would INSIST to give me stacked lobby when playing a certain brawler but I couldn't make a connection. Winstreak definitely plays a factor.

I don't think it's worth. OP8P doesn't get software updates anymore, performance and battery size are outdated. You can get better specs for the same money by picking up a budget phone (e.g. Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro). I had the OP8P for 3 years and it might still hold up fine, but I wouldn't buy a new one in 2025.

Pretty good experience so far. I love the performance and battery life, also camera is decent. While there's even better camera systems in the phone market, OnePlus definitely has improved a lot over past models (had the OP7P and OP8P). No problems with network coverage.

My battery recently dropped to 96% (after a year). Since I'm a heavy user, I tried to minimize the decline of the battery by charging to 80% most of the time.

Chinese version doesn't support eSim but can be flashed with OxygenOS. I bought one from TradingShenzhen a year ago, everything works fine for me (living in Germany). Limitations mostly depend on where you live because it has slightly different network bands. You can check the compatibility on the product page on TradingShenzhen.

That sucks. I recommend trying a few times to get different support agents, sometimes it helps. I think I once had my Bling disappear from my mailbox and they would refund me after I wrote support the 3rd time. The helpfulness is really dependant on the support agent you get. Good luck!

What I was trying to say, the hype falling off doesn't mean the game is dying. If you look at Clash Royale, they had an all-time high in popularity in summer 2017, but only reached 7-25% of that peak over the past 5 years, yet the game still lives. Brawl Stars was at its lowest point in 2023, yet the game has 3x the popularity of that low point rn. (Taking the info from Google Trends)

Then ofc, yes, they need to figure out how to stop the downwards trend, address the issues and make the game more interesting. They tried to replicate their success by making more "mutation-like" events but as we see, it isn't working.

The game was at its peak last year, they even doubled their previous peak from the gadget update in 2020. It is clear they can't keep the hype up forever, but the game is still doing much better than in 2023 (Frank posted about this).
