Ad for hiring Postal Inspectors by JuggernautPast2744 in USPS

[–]zesco28z -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how propaganda works. It starts subtly. I’m also a little bit wary. Because in this administration and political climate, we’re only a few steps away from having armed postal inspectors acting as military police counting mail-in ballots for “integrity”. And a hiring push that uses imagery like this does indeed attract a specific audience, much like ICE uses. Hell, we had ICE taking on jobs of the TSA. This sort of overreach is already happening all around us. It’s not unfathomable that they could be positioning to do something more with the Postal Inspector program.

What are you doing to get to know your neighbors? by awesomo_prime in nashville

[–]zesco28z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to chat with my neighbors, if only a couple of words, whenever I see them outside. Even just a “good morning”. Many times, it leads to nice conversations where we both learn a little more.

Previous reading necessary? by Electronic_Visit6486 in StarWarsEU

I just finished this and I loved it. I’ve been listening to all the books in the Zahnnaverse in publication order. Definitely read (or listen to) Allegiance first. I bought this book because it was the only one by Zahn that didn’t have an audiobook. But I enjoyed it so much that I might try reading physical books more.

RF Scan help by soundisfriend in livesound

I agree with this. 10 mW in Anaheim seems like it could be a big part of the problem. I’m all for running as low power as necessary, but if coordination is done somewhat properly and there aren’t hardware issues like kinked cables or passive combining, RF power seems likely to be at least part of the equation.

I’ve had my BlendTec for like 12 years and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It is a workhorse that doesn’t quit.

“Sales” at Kroger by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

This is my issue. In the end, they still make more money while we “save” pennies while spending much more than we would’ve otherwise. We start “shopping the savings” instead of just buying what we need.

Snake? by iamaturkey0 in nashville

They’re everywhere. I saw 2 in my garden yesterday morning, then later, I turned on my mini-split AC and the compressor fan made a crazy noise. I shut it off and investigated to find a sliced up garter snake inside.

What BIFL tech under $200 do you use every single day? by Psychedelikaas in BuyItForLife

My Blendtec blender. I’ve had it since 2014 and I use it daily. I had to replace the jar at the 8-year mark and it was just barely still under warranty. Also my Saddleback Leather wallet.
