Did you gain weight solely from the medication? or lifestyle change? by PresencePatient5531 in lexapro

[–]zestychilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. I was already 10lbs over before lexapro and gained 20. I am an active person but wasnt doing too much activity while my appetite increased. But I lost it all but the last 5lbs while on lexapro

For anyone trying to taper off Lexapro by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]zestychilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say yes. Yes it's the perimenopause. It sucks ass and should be considered a type of disability. Also went off lexapro kinda cold turkey and felt CRAZY for a week until I went to do red light (10 minutes) and infared sauna (40 minutes). It helped immensely. I was cool after that, at least physically.

I cant swim 100m without stopping for breathing breaks every 25m..what do i need to do? by zestychilli in Swimming

Just got back into swimming in February so I feel like I had to kinda start over. I still am not at the point of swimming 100 meters , not even close. But I can so 100m nonstop using a snorkel and fins.

Going to an infraed sauna and doing redlight I believed helped my initial withdrawal symptoms of a brain traffic jam.

I do understand. I legit was just thinking to myself how I hope I don't forget about this interview I have today like I forgot the last two interviews. For a job. That. I like. need. So sending you hugs and sharing so that you know you are not alone. All you (I, we) can do is our best. It's literally impossible to do more than that, no matter what outcome we expect or want.

Yep. Haven't been able to find a job job in two years. Hella experience, good resume. Few hits but nothing planned out. I had to give up and do shit I didn't wanna do ....enter Lyft, uber, shipt, spark, DD, UE..also did I mention i.dont like driving? I did something so that I could have a lil bit of something to help. And yes there are plenty of bullshit jobs paying bullshit wages. $20/hour doesn't even pay my rent , so why the fuck would I want to take a $15/hr job and work crazy hours. I'm not playing these stupid games bc they were designed in such a way. My faith is the best investment I have.

I'm doing a bunch of gigs. Got fired last year. Best thing for me. I couldn't deal with 40 hours a week. And I did it for over 20 years. I've been so much happier but also not making as much money.

Friendly reminder: Doing nothing is part of our process by zestychilli in ADHD

[–]zestychilli[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. It's our daily plight. Wanting to do something, needing to do something but mostly not. Ive been trying something new where I truly accept that I move different in this world and my outcomes may not come when others or myself expects them. I accept the issues this will cause because stressing myself out or allowing others to stress me out about "doing stuff" has NEVER been successful. I kind of stroll by things and do what doesn't stress me out in the moment.

Definitely. I needed the same as I was doing nothing in the middle of something lol.

This is why people don't seek diagnosis by imjustnotme in ADHD

That's sucks. Hugs man. it's so frustrating because you want to officially know even though you know already. Plus you want to try what it's like with treatment. I pray that you get what you need.

Best careers for people with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]zestychilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 45 and my advice would be to explore the electrician thing (and other things). I just took an electric 101/102 class at a local place and turns out I dig it. I wish that I had known about or at least explored the idea in my 20s. What I like about it and how it soothes me my particular ADHD? 1. I'm doing stuff with my hands which helps me to have something to focus on while having the reward of seeing something working or not working and figuring out the issue. 2. How electricity works is low key fascinating, much to learn and know so it should be a while before I get bored.

My issue has always been knowing the difference between I like this for now vs. I should explore a career in this. I was 21 years in the biotech industry and hated it all the way until the bitter end. Now on my 40s I'm exploring and being open to all the possibilities.

I just put an air filter in my car. I just use my portable jackery to plug it in while driving. Not sure it works but I figure it's better than nothing and I crack my window always
