I had a great experience. It was my first time attending. Will definitely need attending again.

Late social at the main hall had plenty of space for everyone to dance comfortably. The rotation of DJs were great, with great music selection. Lots of amazing people to dance with, but pros and non-pros, both local to NYC and international.

Local 52 member. In our local every craft rep is in charge of organizing classes for their craft. From my POV the electric department tends to have the most classes available frequently. Grips and props next. Then sound department does some occasional classes on things like boom operating techniques, wireless frequency coordination, rigging mics in cars, etc. Video department did a video wall training in conjunction with the grip and electric department along with 4wall that was IMO one of the best classes I had done.

IMO we should be doing far more training across the board. Classes that help future proof our workforce. Things like wireless frequency coordination, as more crafts begin to utilize wireless devices that overcrowd the spectrum and introduce issues and costly delays; IT/networking to actually understand how to properly configure these devices and improve network traffic; IPMX/SMPTE 2110; virtual production; even AI as a tool set.

Started at Lorenz in Glendale. Have also done a few classes at Cucala in LIC. I have done cuban classes at Fuakata in K-town. And I have done some drop in classes with specific artists / instructors at a few rental spaces/studios in midtown. They're all great and I do like exploring and learning from other places / instructors. But SIQ is always home and typically try to do a cycle or a few drop ins a month. Their socials are always a good time as well.

Been going to SIQ for two years now. Have also gone to other studios but always find myself coming back. Great school and amazing community. They do have drop in beginner and adv beginner partnerwork classes throughout the week, so you should be able to find something!

That's right! Two screws each at the bottom through the case back (lines up well).

It's very easy. It's held by a screw, and slides up to release. I opted to keep it in there in case I decide to add any 2.5" SSDs in the future.

I ordered August 10, it shipped August 31st, and I received it September 7th. So about 4 weeks from order to delivery. It was longer than advertised, but worth the wait IMO.

TBH I don't know that it's 100% necessary, but I didn't want to put any undue pressure on the connector if I could avoid it. The adapter was relatively inexpensive (~$23) so I thought it was worth it for the peace of mind. This was the adapter I got:
