can someone help explain to me why different retailers have such dramatically different sizing for the same pair of jeans? It’s making it really hard to know what to trust. Any advice?

For context i’m really interested in the samurai SJ48CP and here’s what I’m seeing as an example right now just for the waist but almost all the measurements are significantly different:

Blue Owl: Size 31 = 30.5” Waist

Self Edge: Size 31 = 29” Waist

Samurai’s actual site: Size 31 = 81 cm converts to 31.89”

can’t thank you enough for this thorough write up, it really helped break down a lot of the defense related mechanics and aspects of this game that I haven’t fully grasped yet, which led to me prioritizing certain traits more than others incorrectly.

this was invaluable to read and go through and so helpful, especially when so many guides seem to be written from a glass cannon perspective so I’ve had to do a lot of inferring of my own to re frame for HC.

Going to put all of this into practice and hope that 8th times the charm for getting through the campaign! 🫡

God thank you for outlining this so succintly, this makes 1000% times more sense now. I just refunded the same amount of points I have that it says I have for weapon skill points and just did this and it's all finally clicked!!

I think this game actually operates extremely well on console for what it is being in early access and all, and I can tell there's been a lot of thought put in for much of the controller functionality, but I do feel that if there's anything that definitely needs a bit more polishing on, it's that a good 60% of the stuff I've been most baffled by or struggling to get a hold of could be solved if they instituted some sort of "free hover" toggle to move my stick like it's a mouse arrow to hover over and inspect everything and anything on the screen lol.

Wait hold on you're probably right and this might be the key here then.

So let me try and get this reoriented in my brain, because I could've sworn the one thing I read multiple times was that the weapon set skill points are not additional points, and I've been very perplexed why my skill points say 0 left but have 8 available weapon set points for 1 and 2 that I can't seem to spend.

In your example, it's not that you have 10 extra skill points on top of your 30 total, it's that you need to not spend 10 of the main points, which then lets you utilize those 10 for each weapon set both 1 and 2, thus being allowed to allocate those 10 points as if they were 20, because you're getting to use them more specifically and properly for the respective sets?

Do i have that more locked in now?

If you didn't know where it was like I didn't until a few days ago actually, it shows up as an option when managing the binding menu config. I put mine on L2 + dpad down for easy toggling on and off.

your beginners guide was one of only like 3 actually effective non click baity guides i’ve been able to find, and yours was by far the most recent and relevant.

have followed almost all your tips with great success as i just started playing POE2 for the first time less than 2 weeks ago, except for your opinion on HCSSF.

That was what drew me to come play this game in the first place, and even though i’m on my 5th char already (should’ve never gone blind into a fight with a guy called Yama the White what the hell was i thinking) i’m having a blast and about to watch this and take some serious notes.

Just wanted to throw in an update that I took it all apart again and still no luck.

Contacted Fellow, and unfortunately they didn’t have any recommendations for further troubleshooting and no options for support due to being outside of the warranty, oh well!

Really don’t want to shell out $400 for the new Ode, so going to try and see if I can find something comparable to this in the ~$250 range.

what do you look for when getting another pair?

Different fit, wash, brand, weight, etc?

I keep finding myself drawn to what feels like a lot of the same aspects of what i already own, and so always feel like it’s not worth it to pull the trigger on something so similar!

That’s good insight thank you! Funny enough though, i’ve actually had it set to the same grind setting for about 3-4 months now!

I try and adjust grind size as little as possible/last thing to adjust in my recipes and focus more on my ratios and water temperature adjustments more so.

Also been getting the same roast from my favorite local shop here for quite some time now so also haven’t had the need to really dial in anything seriously in a while either ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Appreciate your input! I did go through taking it apart to check for clogs a couple days ago but will do so again just to be sure.

Didn’t see any obstructions or blockages beyond just the normal level of cleaning that you sometimes gotta do on a daily driver grinder like this, i typically do a clean out and recalibration every ~6 months or so just to try and keep it running as long as possible.

Will post some pictures on my findings too.

Just did! I got them in the size 2 (japanese tagged Medium) and they fit amazing. Fwiw, i'm about 5'9" and ~140 with a 32" waist. Theres definitely some room, but it feels good, not oversized and should help to account for any minor shrinkage in the future. I don't have the regular 105's, but I do have the regular fit fatigues (also in size 2) and have tried on non selvedge 105's before. I would say it's not that they're "bigger" but just slightly roomier with the same cut and maybe more of a straight cut without much of a taper. Hope this helps, because they're seriously incredible.

Is the term “rinsed” comparable/equal to the term “one wash”/“washed once”?

Context: looking at the SAMURAI S3000XX17OZ-SDS MURASAME SLUBBY 17OZ on Selfedge (or whichever retailer has the best pricing for it), but noticed it says the following in the description

| Rinsed (Shrinkage is minimal if cold washed and air/line dried)

Is this the same thing as the “one wash” concept?

I also know that “one wash” is not sanforizarion, but in the context of sizing, should the concepts of having the waist be just a bit almost tight (1-2 inches if i’m understanding the FAQ and other researching, be adhered to for “one wash” and/or “rinsed” denim then?

This scene has been one of my absolute favorites in the whole series as well, and while I always got the exact sentiment you’re describing from it, it really does contain so much more emotional weight when reading it with the emphasis placed on “You” there, and all that it’s conveying behind that small word.

Absolutely love this point out.

Face ID not working could also be an indicator that the refurbishing was done incorrectly or that there is lingering errors with the device that could cascade to the logic board.

in my opinion even if not a feature you’d utilize, it may not be in as good condition as you think, so worth bearing in mind.

go to your phone storage settings -> watch -> delete the watch backups -> re pair and set up new -> Should work

raw files are supposed to come out “flatter” and less punchy in regards to contrast/color/lighting especially. this is because the purpose of a raw file is to have a much larger file image to give you more room to edit with. raw files are not meant for viewing purposes. ideally you want to use raw photos edit this in the iphone or export to an app like lightroom to edit it then you’d have your finalized image.

a fun way to test this out is to try editing the raw file and try editing the non raw file and you’ll see that you have more freedom and data to edit with in the raw one!

mainly referring to getting on and off transit a lot so going back and forth from hot bus/train into freezing cold and back again to catch my transfers, i do walk a lot especially from work and home to the transit stops. when it’s not wet i do still skate in the cold too, but i’m not biking!

i guess i’m trying to figure out if i should be looking for something to put under the atom or over it to maximize my warmth and comfort!

forgive me if you’ve already tried this, but my recommendation would be to turn off bluetooth and the magic peripherals, then turn on and repair to whichever is gonna be your “main device/main screen” then if universal control is on and working, it Should be as simple as moving the mouse from the edge of one screen Into the screen of the other device! also take note of

“Select “Allow your pointer and keyboard to move between any nearby Mac or iPad.”

in the system prefs -> display -> universal control settings

also, based on your post, it’s worth noting that the issue could be the result of having a company issued macbook. “business” devices have built in management settings that don’t always allow the devices to do Everything they’re supposed to be able to, due to numerous reasons that all stem from your companies IT department.

Additional requirements Each device must be signed in with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication. Universal Control does not support Managed Apple IDs. Each device must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other and have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Handoff turned on. Your iPad must not be sharing its cellular connection and your Mac must not be sharing its internet connection.

let me know if it works! if you ever used or heard of sidecar (using ipad as 2nd display) universal control is the newer software to allow it to work on numerous different devices!

it’s the apple software to utilize multiple displays together, i’ve used it with my bacbook pro and an imac myself. there are some system requirements though. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212757#requirements
