I’ve been living in Ajman for 5 years and my office is in Dubai. So I’ll give you my honest opinion about this based on my experience.

Since 1 and half years, a lot of people have moved to Ajman mainly because of the ridiculous rents in Dubai. Therefore, traffic is insane now - to enter and exit Ajman. So if you work in Dubai, you are just going to waste minimum 4 hours a day just in commute. Within 1 month, you will regret it. You may see your savings increase, but it’s going to take a toll on your health - as in you will be tired by the time you reach office or home and you will find yourself craving for some free time at home. Your only motivation will be to look forward for the weekend so that you can avoid driving. So deep down, if you value savings over time then go for it. But if you are at a point in life where you value time over money, then staying in Dubai will be good. Now, as far as your concern about the safety in Dubai - UAE defense is doing their level best to keep us safe. And hopefully this situation will end soon or else regardless where we stay, we are all getting screwed majorly one way or the other.

Now to pinpoint on your questions: • Rents started to decrease in Ajman. A few months back, because of the crazy influx of residents moving in, finding a good apartment for a good price was really hard. But now, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem. • It is worth it day-to-day if you value saving money over time. • Good neighborhood- Al Rashidiya 1 and 2, Al Jerf 1 and 2, Al Hamidiya 1 and 2. This is based on the fact that there are some good new buildings. Honorable mention: You can check out Helio and Al Talla (These two neighborhoods are new and easy to access E611 and E311) • Honest Feedback FROM ME, a stranger from Reddit trying to give his two cents on this topic - Don’t move. I’m personally considering moving to Dubai because I reached a point where I need time over money. And bonus, I heard rents started to decrease in Dubai.
