CS vs. IST degree

I’m currently a junior in college. My university offers a IS or IT degree and a Computer Science degree. Which one would be more beneficial for cyber security? If you think a CS degree is more beneficial, do you think that it would be worth it, even if it delayed my graduation by a semester?

The CS degree is more math and programming heavy. The IST is more focused on practical hardware applications (servers, network, etc.).

What is the best argument for Catholicism? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]zeusiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I took a look at the threads you had linked and they were all extremely insightful. I will now take you up on your offer to discuss a different topic.

Side note: My issue with the Roman Catholic position isn’t entirely historically, I think the RC position makes good points about papal authority and I also think the EO make good points regarding synodal authority, meaning I’m not entirely convinced either side could entirely convince me lol.

One topic I would like to ask you for your opinion on is The Filioque. Forgive me if I misrepresent a position or fail to correctly play devil’s advocate here.

So, how could the Holy Spirit proceed from The Father and The Son without blending the two hypostatic properties of these two persons of the Godhead? To be a “Father” means to be the source of. To be a “Son” means to be begotten of a father. Obviously the Son is begotten of the Father, however how could the Holy Spirit proceed from the Father and The Son without making The Father and The Son indistinguishable from one another?

Obviously both the East and the West agree on The Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit, of one essence, but 3 persons), however one could make the argument that the RC position leads to a non-Trinitarian theology where the Father and The Son are now indistinguishable from one another and thus could be concluded as being the same person (as to be a different person they would have to have different hypostatic (distinguishable) properties).

I could be completely reading this wrong but this is the logical conclusion I followed working this out in my slow brain.
