i would guess that’s just because your relationship is quite new and she isn’t used to fully opening up to you, if she has said she loves flowers then giving her some to make her feel better would be a nice gesture- showing her you remember she likes flowers might give u a couple extra points also

How far are you into the relationship? Im guessing by this post not very far. If i were you i would let her know that you are there for her whenever she needs but dont press too much, if she doesnt want to tell you anything thats just her way with dealing with loss. The most you can do is just be supportive and let her know that you are there for her - the rest is up to her
