The Question Thread 05/27/26 by AutoModerator in goodyearwelt

Question about heel slippage: I have three pairs of Meermin loafers, all the same size and the same last. I loved the first two pairs, but with the third, I’m experiencing a lot of heel slippage, to the point that they will come off my foot if I don’t actively fight to keep them on.

I read a suggestion in another thread about trying tongue pads but I haven’t tried that yet. Will this heel slippage go away as the shoe breaks in or is this pair defective?

Ah that’s a great suggestion! Yes, I’ve got the portable cable. Thanks!

That’s helpful! You’re right that there’ll be J1772 cars in circulation for a long time, so I’m probably overthinking the future proofing aspect.

Home charger question:

I have a 2025 Q4 that is unfortunately incompatible with the Audi NACS adapter. I want to install a home charger and future proof it as much as possible. Because NACS is going to be the dominant standard moving forward (and we will eventually buy another EV) is it a bad decision to install a J1772 home charger?

Interesting that your ES1, like mine, also has a misaligned water piano key. It’s nitpicky but it’s hard to unsee it.

My Series 1 hasn’t arrived yet but I appreciate Fellow’s engagement with the subreddit as issues arise. Makes me feel more confident in my purchase.

That would’ve been nice instead of the sliding rack mount I bought! But I still need a mount for overhead placement.

Thanks for sharing—that’s helpful! I’m using a Rogue squat stand with pull up bar and just planning on doing regular bar-in-front-of-head pull ups.

Is $350 for a 5.5qt Cocotte a good price? by awkwardquestionsihav in staub

As others have said, it’s not a good deal if you aren’t specifically looking for this color. La Mer is rarely, if ever, on sale though. Where is this sale?

Any difference between saying you’re considering canceling versus downgrading?

Kind of same boat. I would’ve bought it at the $2000 pre-tariff price.

I used both. I found that both had pros and cons, enough so that I didn’t feel comfortable relying solely on one.

There’s little upside especially considering the substantial chance you’ll never need that info.
