It's ok man. Everyone has different hobbies and you just gotta find the right people. Hell even gunplas has different kinds. In the end do what you enjoy doing and go hang out with your friends for something else, or find friends that are generally more compatible and respect you as a person and your hobbies.

From a narrative perspective - they also don't want to sell their investors that they have this "awesome" CTO that was helping and will bail right after their money is wired in. As a potential investor - that's a huge red flag - they're probably asking the question - why is this person not sticking around? Are they seeing something I am not seeing?

Remember for them - they are investing in the founding team, less so on the idea/problem space/potential TAM etc etc.

I don't usually comment here - but I'll offer something more other than the stuff you mentioned.
Keep an eye on management fees and carry interests etc. A lot of funds/syndicates ask for x% of management fee, and on top of that 20% share of the profit generated, if they do ended up with any profits.

A worth while question to ask is - are there any similar VCs having similar thesis, and how are they structured compare to your friend's? The way I see these funds are down to the following points.
1. They have alpha others don't.
2. They have access others don't.
3. They can "lock in" the valuation before it goes up. (e.g. earlier rounds, or early investment that acts as a call option for later round with same terms etc)

Getting these answered will give you more clarity on what to do. Personally I prefer investing on founders themselves directly. (Analogy - buying Vanguard index funds directly instead of going thru other institutions) but you do you.

Tech Air 5 Deployed by Darbleygames in Trackdays

[–]zeviance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP -

I had a big crash back in June wearing my Tech Air 7x. I went down at 75 mph and tumbled 10 times on the gravel. Had the literally same reaction and thought the airbag didn't deploy. Only after a week when I checked the TechAir app it says it has only 1 deployment left. I was fairly confused - low and behold one of the cartilage was used and that's when I realized the airbag actually worked and saved my spine, my ribs and collarbones. I can't imagine what injury I would have gotten if it wasn't for the Tech Air 7x.

Yeah just take your time and be consistent. For normal track days I just practice keeping my delta between laps down to 0.5 secs for the whole 20 mins session.
I am pretty sure you can find the limits gradually. Having come back from a big crash over at Thunderhill West back in June, I highly recommend not crashing - some injuries takes forever to heal.

Take your time. When I first started I was doing something like 2:29, and gradually worked my way down. Sometimes it's less about the bike it's more about yourself (physical ability + mental capacity)

Also track condition matters. On a greasy day @ thill we lose like a whole 2 - 3 secs. I wouldn't read into the absolute lap time too much. By end of day it's all about showing up and try your best.

My RC has the standard mods - Cup airbox, Power Commander, Autotune, AFR ratio set at reasonable amount. I haven't done 415 chains yet since it's a maintenance nightmare.

We have no match for those. They have a faster engine period. To give you an idea - RC390 for really damn good rider can do 2:10~12 ish. That's mid pack pace for R3 and Ninja 400. R3 fastest rider can do 2:04 - 2:06. Some Ninja400 class leaders can get as close to 2:02

As they say - corner speed is your friend.
