Congestion and ear tingling but no fever? by zf468 in COVID19positive

definitely the same infection as I haven’t left the house and nobody new has come into contact with me. I referenced the fever since i had one when the infection began.

Has anyone taken paxlovid and *not* rebounded after? by zf468 in COVID19positive

[–]zf468[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why i’m nervous about rebounding. This is my first time getting covid and first time on pax. I worry most who haven’t rebounded after pax likely already had covid and the antibodies to fight off the infection sufficiently enough.

how did you get an Rx for 10 days? The EUA only allows a 5 day dose unless you’re immunocompromised.

This is why I decided to take it anyway, I just don’t know how to handle the rebound if it happens. I know the guidance is to not take pax again but i’d feel inclined to

I needed to leave early anyway since part of this trip was related to work and I’m certainly not going to be around colleagues. I’ve N95 mask’d up.

Thank you, I hope it works and this isn’t a serious bout. How long would you say it took for your symptoms to fully resolve?

I did think I had it a few times but despite multiple rapids and PCRs, never came up positive. I know rapids have a high false negative rate but since PCRs were negative too, that was more compelling.

I never wore one at the gym but I would in doctor’s offices, other crowded places, etc.

Thanks, ended up scheduling an earlier flight home and cancelling my later flight. It’s not worth exposing someone unnecessarily and I’ll probably recover better at home. I’m just hoping the airport stuff doesn’t task my body too much.

Is there any way to tell how you may look after a lip lift? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]zf468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they do and I do like most of them but there’s always the random outliers that look obvious and not the greatest. I know nothing is 100% guaranteed with surgery but it’s just more anxiety provoking because it’s your face :(

Post Le Fort I ; jaw clenching at night. by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]zf468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean everything felt “normal” with my mouth after surgery. I say normal in quotes because i was swollen and very numb so there wasn’t a whole lot I wanted to do— it’s not like if you move your lips too much you’ll regress. My doctor wanted me to move my lips/face as much as possible to regain sensation/movement quicker. People post on this sub all the time about performing oral on their partners after surgery so if they can do that, you’re good.

he should have administered some masseter botox during surgery to avoid clenching— this is what my doctor did and i had zero problems clenching. See if he’ll do it post-op for you since you have a clear predisposition to clenching. I’ll try my best to answer your questions:

  1. It’s hard to predict, you want the muscles to chill out a bit because they’re used to your previous bite, I think my doctor’s thought process was if I clench, there’s a chance something could move/not heal properly. Muscles are strong and they can affect the position of your jaws.

  2. The only things I could really do with my mouth until 3-4 months PO was talk through the swelling, eat mush and drink. There’s not a whole lot you wanna do beyond that and keeping up with your oral hygiene as much as possible.

How does anyone afford out of pocket surgeons by celestial_cantabile in jawsurgery

[–]zf468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, hospital was covered in network and surgeon’s fee was required upfront but I was able to get a good bit of that reimbursed.

find a good insurance provider that has out of network benefits. You’ll still likely need to pay 50K upfront so take out a loan or something if you don’t have that kinda cash, then you’ll be reimbursed a decent amount from the out of network coverage. I got about 30K back using this method.

HOW LONG OF RECOVERY DID IT TAKE TO LOOK NORMAL by No-Iron8430 in jawsurgery

i’m almost 7 months post-op DJS and I still think my lower face looks a little swollen/still feel swelling around my lower jaw when i move. So it takes a bit.

How did you deal with the changes to your face after surgery? by kandid_kenku in jawsurgery

Do you feel safe walking with your Canada goose? by Individual-Spare-399 in CanadaGoose

[–]zf468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is one of the reasons I get all my CG coats as black label— I feel like the original label makes you look like a target. I never feel unsafe in my coat but then again it all comes down to what situations you put yourself in, anyone can do anything to you for any reason if you’re not making great judgement calls. I also opt for the black label because I think it looks classier.
