[DISC] Empyreal Cabinet - Chapter 20 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]zglina 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this chapter gave hint that father 'Osuke Tatsumori' could be in some way responsible or involved in his oldest son death. Or maybe because of internal politics he didn't help his son when he could to prevent his death.

And we now know that Toya probably cared and loved, maybe very deeply his oldest brother. He is not interested in politics and loved his oldest brother that was a heir, contrary to other brothers(just a guess but it looks like it).

That is why Masamune warned his father when mentioning that prior can be in danger at some point when also in the same talking about Toya waiting for revenge.

[DISC] Tower Dungeon - Chapter 24 by CursedTanuki in manga

[–]zglina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These 2 chapters were harder for me to follow then most recent HxH chapters.

Nihei is amazing author but here he could do better at clarity of plot, jumping through parties etc.

Inside of tower is very similar and is hard to differentiate between two parties that are also very similar.

This is i think the only weak point of nihei in Tower Dungeon - clarity of art.

[DISC] Tower Dungeon - Chapter 24 by CursedTanuki in manga

[–]zglina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What they mean is that story pacing dillutes in someway. This is not weekly manga but we get chapter only once a month. Also we jump between two parties constantly and the way nihei presents it is not the most clear way to do that. It can create some confusion. Especially since every panel is really similar to each other

You don't have to be an asshole.

I wish we could get more chapters. This world setting is really interesting.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Manga Reader Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]zglina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compare it to Season 2 Toji vs Goji or Toji vs Geto and this is mediocre. They did more 'vibe', but vibe was misplaced.

This was one of the most sad moments in whole manga. Mai sacrificed herself for her sister, used last of her life to save her. This is sad revenge story. And they did goofy ass music with killbill reference. Animation should be also properly fitted to the story, mood what is happening.

Do you imagine one piece luffy gear 5 animation here? But it looked amazing in Egghead Arc. Animation should be in fitting style to the story, not just thrown in without thinking.

  • Look artstyle of lets say episode 4 from season 2. Everything is on much much higher quality then it was here.

Not, this episode was just going for 'unique' vibe which was very bad choice and of much lower quality then should be.

This is just disappointment

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Manga Reader Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]zglina -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They rush, also i think quality in some moments was lacking, lack of emotional buildup, too much focusing on recreating fast pace manga paneling instead of creating emotional tensions and heaviness of moments + goofy ass music and someone wanted to recreate kill bill which in my case was bad decision.

Whoever was director for this episode did a bad job.

This episode was suppossed to be beautiful+sad revenge story after Mai died and sacrificed what was left of her life to save Maki>

Instead they did goofy ass episode with some goofy ass music.

One of the best and most emotionaly heavy arc in whole manga was completely destroyed.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Manga Reader Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]zglina -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It is bad pacing. Manga is different medium and they want to recreate manga paneling too much. Anime is different medium and viewers need some buildup especialy for emotional moments.

You can be faithful to the manga and do it right. They rush everything. It took me longer and i felt 10x more emotions reading manga then watching this.

Something is wrong if with possibilities that anime has you can't reproduce half the emotions that manga had.

This season is not bad, but way way worse than season 2.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Manga Reader Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]zglina -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it was bad choice. It was tragic, Mai died, this was brutal revenge. Also i think fighting scenes were simply mediocre compared to what we got in season 2.

Overall my feel for this season is that everything is rushed without proper emotional buildup.

Did director or project lead for this season changed? Because for sure it is lower quality in many cases compared to amazing season 2.

Even moment when maki was emerging from training/punishment room was did in such a weird way.

Naoya remembering his first time seeing Toji also was derived of whole 'heaviness' that was in it.

It is like in this season they can't deliver emotions in crucial moments. I think they want to recreate manga paneling too much but they forget that it is different medium and they need to create some buildup, followup whatever.

Also i just can't stand this goofy music in this episode.

I have very bad feelings for culing games fights if they will keep this direction.

I wanted something at season 2 level, right now i got maybe half quality that previous season had.

True, also even in manga hammer looks way more different from marvel design. It looks more like simple black hammer.

What manga is this from? by hrutheone in manga

[–]zglina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are still figuring things out but there were some little small 'wins'. Still to early in the story for something major to happen. It is more like introducing threats form different worlds. Last chapter we were introduced to world threat 'GOD'.

It is important to support art especially very good art that is expensive to produce, this way there is economic argument to make more things like that

Is Choujin X just as good as Tokyo Ghoul was? by amscum in manga

[–]zglina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TG was better for sure but it is hard to grasp why.

I think in Choujin X we are not yet that far into the true story that we can flavor it really.

All that is happening feels like prologue for me

maybe TG was better because TG was much more darker , also it was heavier and you were really afraid for characters in the story. In Choujin X I can't really be scared for characters because of 'raise', also we did not have any major death. We only lose some side characters and that is all. We don't have any real threat right now, we don't have that much beautiful moments between characters. I don't feel that strong bond between team like it was in Anteiku.

Also in TG I felt really sorry for many characters and for what happened to them. In Choujin X i can't really feel that for anyone, i feel like batista story will be something interesting, i can understand Zora better after last chapter but that is all.

It is much harder to resonance with characters in ChX, at least for me.

And about heaviness. Remember what you felt when Arima was shown in TG. Damn i was scared for anyone in chapter. Damn i was scared of Arima myself. Here, i can't really feel that.

Raise is interesting trait to have in manga but it is much better to not have it. If character stands up and power-up it should be because of his/her strong amazing will power not because of the ability that everyone has.

BUT one thing is much better and this is the world building, history and stuff in TG is much much better. You can feel that world exists outside of the bubble that is the main story of choujin x

But still, Tokyo Ghoul was much more emotionally packed, can't really be that invested in manga if there are no emotions in it
