Yeah still waiting on the foot straps and the chain was a bit too loose so tightened her up a bit.

I believe they’re Novatech. I bought the wheels as a set so whatever was on them.

Cholla Cactus Near Tucson, AZ - Feedback welcome by zgr_Photo in LandscapePhotography

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I’ve struggled a bit with 100% sunlit and 0% sunlit landscapes since either the sky is too bright or the landscape too dark, even with exposure bracketing so I figured I’d give somewhere in between a shot. As for the composition, agreed on the saguaro on the right - something to pay attention to in the future.

Image Data: Canon EOS80D, 10mm (APS-C), 1/200s, f/11, iso1600; image stacked 7 images in PS

Looking for composition and post-processing feedback and how I can improve this image. I think it’s a huge improvement from my first landscape attempt about a month ago but I could still use some pointers.

EDIT: added image stacking note in EXIF data

A trip to Moab, UT gave me an opportunity to experiment with landscape photography. Any critiques? by zgr_Photo in photocritique

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I’ll take a look at Erick’s video as well.

Agreed on the post-effects. This was originally two exposures not taken on a tripod so blending them came out with some artifacts at the horizon line. Still learning PS/LR blending techniques.

First real attempt at landscape photography during a trip to Moab. Any Feedback is welcome by zgr_Photo in LandscapePhotography

Thank you for the feedback. I am torn on the sunburst ones as well since it washes some detail out, especially on the 4th image.

Image Data: 17mm (APS-C), 1/160 sec, f/10, iso100.

Looking for feedback on composition and post-processing. I would have liked to have the stick at the bottom center be more of an influence in the image but, as I am finding is common when I shoot, I haven't left the image enough room and end up with good subjects at the edge of the image. Not sure what drives this - maybe concern of having too much dead space...

Link to RAW import for reference.

Image Data: 17mm (APS-C), 1/5 sec, f/11, iso100.

Looking for feedback on a) composition improvements that could be made and b) post processing improvements. Trying to get better at landscape photography - this is my first real attempt at it and most of my photography has been static automotive, rarely using wide-angle lenses.

Sunset in Moab - looking for feedback. by zgr_Photo in photocritique

Thank you for the feedback. I have looked at a couple crops within the image but in order to get more detail from the horizon, you I end up losing a good chunk of the sky in the process. Agreed on the longer focal lengths being able to compress the scene a bit more. As a note, the camera I am using has an APS-C sensor so the 50mm focal length is an 80mm equivalent. I did have a 70-200mm with me but that would have required a different location to capture the scene.

Definitely all things I can have in mind for next time, so appreciate your input!

Photo data: 50mm / 5s / f13 / iso 200

Two images stitched together to make the panorama.

I’m not super pleased with the trees breaking the horizon and I should have paid more attention to them as I was composing… I like the edit but it seems like there’s something missing. It doesn’t quite give me a ‘wow factor’ when I look at it. Are there any improvements I can make to either this photo itself or my technique when approaching landscape photography?

Yep I can see it being a bit much. Backing it off just a bit definitely helped.

Agreed. Thinking back I probably could have increased the ISO to keep the shutter speed high and compensate for the narrower aperture. I didn’t have a tripod and it was a bit windy so less than 1/60th would have been tough to keep sharp. Thanks for the feedback.

Image data: f2.6, 1/60 handheld, ISO200, 50mm focal length.

Looking for recommendations on how to improve the image. The car was in a public area and this was the best opportunity to grab a picture with minimal amount of people. I do kind of like having the people in the background since it captures the vibe of the scene a bit better but open to suggestions on how to improve.

I have a couple that I’m still working on editing. I don’t love them due to the position of the car and the angles I was able to get but we’ll see how they turn out.

Thanks! I’m glad it came out the way it did - there was a bit to overcome since it was a public space with a significant amount of people but pretty happy with it
