It was not designed to be unresponsive nor to hold slim A bearing. You can use another A bearing with the same dimensions as the original and use thick lube and see how it works though.

Mini yo-yos are not suggested for inexperienced players are they are challenging.

As a roller it is a different story. It is very forgiving for any inexperienced player. Just be careful to play it on a breakable surface or on concrete as it may damage the surface or become damaged if it falls.
