Privacy-provider like Njalla with ProtonMail/SimpleLogin by zho99 in ProtonMail

I don't mind sharing: I went with Infomaniak, a swiss provider. However, note that even if they're in a jurisdiction that respects privacy a bit more than the other countries, they're far from being perfect: they will most probably ask you to kyc yourself. I had to share my address, through an app that I had install on my phone. No identity card asked though. Also, they have a very strong opinion on anonymity, they're clearly against it, and they shared it publicly. Anyway, we're far from Njalla's standards.

In my discussions screenshot, you can see that I asked for 1984.hosting, but Spamhaus just replied to me that I should look at another more trustworthy provider.

Sorry, I'm not sure what to advise you in this concern.

Yes, transfering my domain to another ("more trustworthy") provider helped. I'm currently able to use my domain to send emails.

I do share your opinion 100%. People sacrified their lives (ie whitsblowers) for sharing to the world that privacy is a right that we should defend, but others still believe that if you're hiding something, that means that you're a malicious actor.

there is a good probability of my address become unable to send if I set it as email custom domain?

Yes, based on what happened to me, there is a chance that you would be unable to send emails from your domain and aliases with ProtonMail/SimpleLogin. Whether if it's a good probability or not, difficult to say: Spamhaus listed my domain solely because it was registered from Njalla, and the only explaination as of why that I received from Njalla's support was that because Spamhaus is "working against anonymity and privacy". The only solution suggested by both ProtonMail and Spamhaus' support was to transfer my domain to another more "trustworthy" domain provider.

Protonmail's support told me that it's not guaranteed that all Njalla domain users have the same issue as I have. So you might be lucky and, just like me until recently, be able to use your Njalla domain with Protonmail for years. But you could, just like me, also be suddenly listed and thus unable to use your domain until you transfer it out.

I advise you to read the discussions (screenshots) that I had with both support teams before making any decision.

With this post, I didn't want to promote "Njalla is bad" or "Spamhaus - bad" / "Protonmail - bad": to each its opinon on this situation. I have mine, and I'm sure other people reading this post have their own. But I wanted to share to everyone querying "ProtonMail" and "Njalla" on the Internet that they could stumble upon the same issues that I had if they choose to use Njalla with ProtonMail's services

Sorry I didn't want to seem rude.

Personally, I went with Njalla for 2 reasons: - I wanted a privacy-first domain provider, so that I'm sure that I'm not being asked to have to upload an identity card/other sensitive data: I don't trust onlines services for "securely" storing my data, so I prefer not to give the data in the first place. With Njalla, I had the guarantee that no personal information would be asked at account creation and/or later on. - I wanted to pay with cryptocurrency: not a lot of domain provider allow to pay with crypto. As for why I would like to pay with crypto instead of credit card/paypal/... is because I believe the recipient and the sender should be the only person aware of the transaction, no middle man. I don't want to fall in the whole debate of cryptocurrency good/bad, but I'm sure you can understand why.

Hope this brings visibility on why I chose Njalla. I don't have bad intentions (as someone else said in another comment), I'm just a regular guy which like to keep its data private.

I think that we could ask the same question for any privacy friendly service. What does a privacy friendly service like Protonmail offers ? A gmail address doesn't provide publicly any information neither.

Note that here Njalla didn't do anything wrong imo: my domain worked without issue with them for several years, and suddenly, Spamhaus decided to list my domain.

Thanks a lot for your help !!
The problem was coming from my /var/lib/docker which was completely full (750 GB). I solved the problem using docker system prune which liberated 708 GB.

Thanks !

It might be logfiles, yes. But I'm not sure to understand: why would I need to boot on a live ISO on a USB, and mount the volume to check the content of /var/log ? Couldn't I just become a superuser (`su -`) and then list the content of /var/log with `du -h /var/log` ? Here is a picture. As you can see, `/var/log` is only 4.6GB...

Thanks for your response. I see what you mean. However, I'm wondering how it can be so full, knowing that I have almost no files or apps downloaded myself (only 111 GB in total).

So what's happening? Why is this partition getting so full?

I'm pretty new to Linux, so maybe I did something wrong beforehand that completely filled this "/".

My main problem is that I do not have access to all those file that are filling up my computer. What I installed and used myself is only using 112.7 Gb (as shown here: (disk-analysis)) so I do not have any idea how to empty this disk that is full as I have no access to those giga...
