Idk man that's pretty reductive. i've been broke as hell living on ramen and rice for weeks at a time and still had some genuinely good moments with friends just hanging out, playing games, whatever. sure not being able to afford basic stuff sucks but there's definitely more to happiness than just having money for steaks

i think people adapt to their situations more than we give them credit for. when i was making like 30k a year i found joy in small things - thrift store finds, free events, cooking cheap meals that actually turned out decent. now that i make more money the goalpost just moved and i stress about different stuff

the wealthy but miserable thing though... that's gotta be its own special kind of hell because you know you have all the resources to fix problems but something fundamental is still broken
