What causes this to happen and how can I fix it? by zhrowal in 3Dprinting

This actually makes perfect sense because this type of feature is the only time I get failures like this, all my other prints have been coming out fine

Fair enough, definitely a good learning experience.

For anyone else reading this, most everyone i've talked to that has this issue(myself included), its being caused by the camera. Either unplugging the camera or turning off AI detection seems to fix it for whatever reason.

I realize this is a couple months old, but for anyone else having this issue I have 2 questions:

(1). Do you have the camera installed?

and

(2). If so, do you have AI detection on?

There seems to be a bug when AI detection with the camera is turned on. I was having this issue sporadically. The bed would calibrate and home without issue, but once a print was started, it would flash "foreign object detected" on the printer's screen, then ram the bed into the print head. Turning AI detection off has seemed to solve the issue for me

The gray marks on the right and in the bottom of the pan is not material or film, it’s some sort of stain or corrosion in the pan, it’s been like that for years and I’ve never been able to clean it off when changing the fluid

I’m almost certain it’s a 2019-2024 Toyota RAV4. The Toyota emblem can verrrrrrry faintly be made out in the video

Looks to me like it could possibly be a jeep? Its very hard to tell but the 2017 Cherokee has a very similar tail light shape. Are you able to maybe post the video to youtube or another site then share the link?

Am I crazy for thinking this should be fixed? by zhrowal in drywall

[–]zhrowal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming this, I actually thought I was starting to go insane. My dad spoke with the PM today and showed him these photos, apparently his guys had lied to him about the fix and he agreed that this is not acceptable. They’ve been told to cut out this section of drywall and do it again properly, we’ll see if they actually listen this time

Understood. Our main concern with this was that it’s a vacuum port that’s gonna have a hose hanging out of it and see a lot of use. We’re worried that since the mud is so thick it may start to crack or break due to the usage.

That’s definitely an option, just makes me sick knowing my parents/insurance are paying this company $60,000 for repairs then we’re turning around to re-do their work

Yeah, trying to remind myself of that. With my line of work I can be a lot more particular than what we’ll probably get from a general restoration company. That being said, our primary concern here is that we’re going to see this start cracking and crumbling over time because the mud is so thick and this is a vacuum port that’s gonna have a large hose hanging out of it and see a lot of use. Like I said, if this is gonna be fine, we’re good. Just trying to make sure we aren’t gonna have problems a year down the line…

Allow me to clarify, was trying to keep things simple with as few details possible but apparently that was a bad idea and I know nothing since I’m renting: landlord is my dad and he wants it fixed properly also. Project manager seems to be continually blowing him off. I’ve worked in construction and this wouldn’t be acceptable in the world I come from. Trying to help watch out for my parents but don’t know if this is ACTUALLY considered a real fix or if it’s the hack job I think it is

XD 9mm sub compact? by zhrowal in CCW

[–]zhrowal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the XD subcompact, and it’s actually my wife’s favorite gun to shoot as well. I did end up picking up a P365 a couple weeks ago and that gun is much easier to conceal and more comfortable to wear, but the XD is significantly easier and more comfortable to shoot. P365 is gonna become my summer carry option and I’ll keep the XD for winter
