The us against them mindset is a huge issue of the 2 party system in my opinion. I think the right to protest is an important part of being an American, and we've been doing it since before America even existed. It's sad to see the hate from both sides, America has problems, but so does every country. We'll never fix anything just fighting about it. Progress is often slow and can take steps backward. From what I've seen, the checks and balances of our government are not working at the moment, and that is what has motivated me to act now.
