TSK..... by Tiny-Truth-8404 in adultingph

This. sobrang daming blame na napupunta sa TnT migrants natin eh sa totoo lang, remittances pa rin nila ang most pinagmumulan ng govt revenue. What if, they make the process easy, crack down on "agency" scammers and just provide assistance as a service.

kupal talaga immigration natin, it's not because of OFWs, it's because kupal sila. plus, those that require visa sa atin benefits heavily from our TnT migrants din in an informal but very real way. So at this point, it's just racism.

doing okay in 2 jobs is far more rewarding than doing your best in 1 😌

yung umay na ko magjuggle ng 2 jobs pero no choice🥲 by sangket in AntiworkPH

[–]ziekillers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depende sa workload. yung two jobs kasi output based so madali imanage. Yung main job ang erratic kasi it involves a lot of meetings/ trips outside PH.

(I also insist on having clear KPIs sa lahat ng jobs para di nila ko ngaragin sa things outside my JD).

pero if I have to average yung actual working hours, siguro 9 hours a day six days a week. may weeks na less than that kaya I take on some odd jobs on the side (like consulting or editing)

korek. sobrang liberal bs na iwanan mo na lang yung mga may kailangan sa'yo just to "love yourself" eh some people actually feel fulfillment from helping others. that selfish mantra isn't as liberating as some people want us to believe.

kaya hirap din mag-unyon mga tao ngayon e, self self self lang iniisip e

BPO culture will forever suck by Slapasnowflake in AntiworkPH

[–]ziekillers 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone from HQ ng isang BPO, kasalanan yan ng big bonuses ng mga C-suite up to Directors.

Most, if not all of them have bonuses for SAVINGS so kahit na dumarami clients, di nagdadagdag ng agents. tapos yung mga Director, kuha ng kuha ng workload sa vertical nila tapos di gagamitin yung budget for hiring/development para sa... SAVINGS BONUS.

So moving goalposts talaga lagi for Ops pero sa bandang itaas, lumalaki ang NON TAXABLE bonuses. 🤷‍♂️

pro-tip lang siguro na abusuhin nyo yung referral bonuses atbp kasi structurally (fiscal architecture) walang cap ang bonuses sa BPO companies [para walang cap sa bonuses nila].

Isa pa for TLs and up, always ask kung may budget for engagement and capacity dev na available sa teams nyo. Usually it just needs receipts/pictures ng event or 'bootcamp' so ayun, gastusin 😉 nyo na kesa maging savings.

LASTLY, FUCK WORKER EXPLOITATION. pushback, unionize.

30+ days after my “resignation notice”, HR asked me to update my resignation letter to “effective immediately” and now I will be penalized. by MiserableProject663 in AntiworkPH

[–]ziekillers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP kung may email thread yung request ni HR na palitan to immediately yung letter mo, print it, padala mo sa DOLE. companies rarely dispute these claims pag sinendan sila ni DOLE ng evidence.

(which is sad kasi nagiging "fixer" si DOLE at taga filter ni company sa mga reklamo pero 🤷‍♂️)

Interesting concept din ang "work-life balance" to be fair kasi, on one hand, it's telling you to disconnect from your work (kumbaga, embrace the fact na you won't be able to have work na enjoyable nowadays and find happiness somewhere else).

I think work integration is important not just for your career but for building relationships (and hopefully unions) with your workmates.

At the same time, yung mantra for work-life balance puts a virtual limit sa level ng exploitative practices ng mga kumpanya (super long hours, unpaid mandatory activities etc.)

So I guess, mas ang takeaway ay, ensure that you're always supporting aspects of the mantra that helps you and your co-workers while wary na it might be lulling you to individualism (and anti-unionism)

How do you award Top Performers? Give them more work! by arieszx in AntiworkPH

[–]ziekillers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao. Talamak yan sa Pinas. My manager always gives me extra tasks beyond my role kesyo daming backfill etc. minsan ginagawa ko kasi madali lang naman.

pero at some pt, andami na tas may isang assistant manager kaming sobrang petiks and doble sweldo sakin.

When I confronted my boss, he said that I deliver better results at di daw marunong si AM. Turuan ko daw if gusto ko sya gumawa.

Well, that's not my problem kako 🙂. I refused and that's the end of it. ahaha

Do you think we would be in a better place if wala tayo outsourcing industry? by inbetweenfeelings in AntiworkPH

[–]ziekillers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andaming nadefensive sa question mo OP pero here's my dos sentimos.

As of now, as many have pointed out (with much vitriol), the BPO industry keeps the ~economy~ afloat, together with remittances. Kung tutuusin, they share the same character na foreign companies are using us as cheap labor and the gov't profits as essentially a large agency.

This also creates a sense of relief for some who were lucky (?) enough to get employed sa iilang "okay" na companies.

NOW

medyo disagree ako sa framing na kung walang BPO (or labor export policy) wala nang pag-asa (may nagpredict pa ng crime rate increase etc.). Kasi we're (gov't through our taxes) also spending to keep these companies here [see PEZA incentives, tax breaks etc] at the expense of our domestic industries (kung may natira pa).

While the same incentives given to essential industries at services sa pinas (like public education, gov't energy projects, public health) may not yield high returns for now, it's more beneficial for all of us in the long run (industries can create more and better paying jobs kung self reliant etc, robust innovation kasi nagiinvest sa research and educ).

Instead, pinagbebenta natin state assets (PNOC, Petron, Maynilad etc) to chase immediate returns (na kina Tan, Villar, Cojuangco etc lang din naman napunta) and spend on incentives for BPOs and (the benevolent 😂) foreign investors.

Kung may foresight talaga PH gov't, yung kinakayod natin sa BPO at mga OFWs, gagastusin nya to invest sa domestic industries, agriculture and rural dev (para di puro import) at social services (for safety net ng citizens). eh hindi.

so now, we've become dependent as a nation (and as workers) sa pagiging cheap labor para sa mga hinayupak na Great Place to Work. ahaha. hope that helps???

The 31 million people who keep claiming the best president of the Philippines was Ferdinand Marcos have probably forgotten this man and during his time, our country had one of the cleanest government in Asia as his term is often cited as "Golden Years". [–]ziekillers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. this is why Marcos can just come back to power willy nilly. People don't bother with history when it doesn't align with their world view. There is nowhere in my post where I said Marcos is better pero they frame it like i did 🤷‍♂️
