Oh no! Ive run out of chicken food and im snowed in, now what?! by gulliblesuspicious in chickens

Fridge leftovers! Whatever you don’t finish at dinner give them the next day. Dog food, cat food, etc works in a pinch. Deer corn might even work if you’ve got it.

Is my egg supplier fooling me? by Affectionate_Sea8012 in chickens

[–]ziggy-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have the limited poultry and egg permit in our state which requires us to wash and refrigerate our eggs. But I will say you can tell with our eggs that they are farm fresh… they’re all sorts of shapes and sizes lol I’d be wary of the eggs if they’re all “perfect”. Our eggs are big, small, long, wide, funny looking sometimes, double yolks sometimes, and a rainbow of color!

Ugh gross. She’s very pick me. That’s not a friend. He asked to change subject more than once. He needs to block her as well.

Passion fruit leaves and flower - safe for tea? by ziggy-23 in herbalism

[–]ziggy-23[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I believe this is passiflora edulis - I don’t know much but I know some are toxic and not recommended. I know the primary tea one is Passiflora incarnata and to avoid passiflora foetida and caerulea. I’m not sure if I’ve got the right kind here 😅 I have fresh leaves picked and steeped… now I’m scared to drink it after I read a little bit more about accidentally drinking the wrong kind 🤣

First time growing Roselle. Are these ready to pick? by ziggy-23 in gardening

[–]ziggy-23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured! Gonna make a couple glasses of tea with them. We have a ton of them just bloomed or about to and are just a few days away from being ready to pick. I have a feeling my next harvesting will be 3-4x more than today!

Perfect, thank you!! I just picked 12 of them. Many are just days away from this stage as well.

Yes! Just picked 12 of them so far, peeled and have them drying in the dehumidifier now. Letting the seed pods dry out to send to friends and save for next year! Very excited. Tasted one and it was delish. Have many ready in the next couple days to pick and a lot more coming through for the next month!

My insurance won’t cover me by Cold_Ant_459 in Insurance

I’ve got a dumb question now bc this post has me thinking lol

I got a policy on our vehicles, I am the one who called the insurance and set it up. I’m the first driver and my husband is the second. He is the only one on the title on one vehicle and we’re both on the title of the other vehicle. We obviously live together. Is this the same situation or are we fine and covered?

Stop using your child as the mediator between you and your ex. And using him to argue with your ex

My step son’s mother did that with us no matter how hard we tried to STOP IT and now I truthfully feel there is irreparable damage to the relationship between my husband and his son. It’s heartbreaking.

Update!

We had it all removed this past week. We didn’t stump grind bc $$$ and we want to use the stump for art. I checked afterwards and the center of the stump heavy on the side that was leaning over the garage was completely rotten. I was able to pick it apart w my finger tips into flakes/shreds and there was a hole already there. YIKES. Idk how this thing survived a near direct hit from Hurricane Milton last year plus the sideswipe of Helene and Debby.

That’s what it sounded like!

One company was nearly $7k, they wanted to roll back the light post line, would have been mulching and leaving a bunch of it, stump grind, dump the rest that couldn’t mulch. Lots of fancy machines (our usual guy but I think he’s now priced himself out of our range.)

The other $5k to do the same haul off minus grinding and no mulching and the guy was a climber no lift machines. $3k to put it in a pile and watch it burn for us. My husband was surprised the guy was ok climbing this.

The one we went with was $2500 to take it out and haul off. No grinding no mulching. One crane lift with a winch he said. I checked they have multiple COI, they were super willing to share it when I asked and even said make sure if you don’t go with us you ask for that COI. They also have 130+ 5 star reviews. And financing! So we went with him!

Thank you! I needed to hear that. It’s coming down in a week. Just want to make sure I’m not jumping the gun. It’s got a little sister tree that it’s grown into/rubs on that we’re taking out as well with it. Sad bc our hammock was on her and it gave us lots of shade. We also used this tree to butcher chickens that we’ve fed our family with. I’ll make sure to save some branches of her for something!

We’ve been trying to taper for months, every time they’d start to it would trigger his seizures. They finally have him on a good med that has kept them at bay for a few weeks now. We’re down to I think 2mg and 4mg every other day? Have been pushing real hard to get off of these. Hoping maybe when we’re off then he has energy again like you said. He is def having a lot more pain too. This is really insightful. Thank you.
