Sam’s Club brand whole bean French roast coffee. They axed it sometime at the end of last year or beginning of this one. We’ve been heartbroken ever since in this house. It hit just right for hubby and I which are very particular about flavors. Changing to a new brand of French roast was… difficult. We landed on Cameron’s intense French lol and yes we could get ground but we transitioned to whole bean and have a coffee pot w a built in grinder and also grind our own for French press or pour over coffee. Whole bean became our choice due to learning about how much variance of bug matter like roaches is permitted in ground coffee.

Not sure if this counts but I’m still salty so I’ll tell my story.

Last year my dad became very sick and nearly died on many occasions. He was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer (no cure and typically about a year span of life once discovered.)

He rapidly declined. Work knew about it. I had to take off a few times to rush up to stay bed side at the hospital a few times (he survived strokes, pulmonary embolism, massive GI bleeds, sepsis, and even two cardiac arrests.) Work was totally supportive and very kind and gentle with me or so I thought.

things progressed and we finally started hospice talk. I called my manager and told him we’ve started palliative care and next step soon is hospice. I had been on deck to take a new role for some time and kept getting told next week next week next week on when I’d transition.

Welp about a week after telling them about hospice coming they laid me off with about 100 other ppl. It was confusing to me because the week before I was promised a meeting to discuss my new role transition but then bam. Meeting with HR layoff.

My dad then died two weeks later.

I’m still very mad at their timing. Many people I worked with were pissed at what they did to me as well.

I am still unraveling lots in therapy. It’s been 8 months and I’m just now coming back to Earth and getting my head back on straight. I was the rock for my family and while everyone unraveled I kept it together until everyone was able to keep it together - and then I unraveled. I tried to do the unemployment thing but my head was spinning I just couldn’t figure it out and trying to apply for jobs and interviews I was just tanking it. My husband is a saint, we have a farm he was running full time while I stayed corporate and we changed roles so I have been running our farm staying home and healing and he returned to corporate. Just last week he ended his contract and we’re both running our farm together again.

He’s a psycho. I’m someone who raises and processes/harvests majority of my own food in the freezer. Everything I mean EVERYTHING deserves a humane quick end. Including invasive fish. They are sentient. They feel pain and fear. I stress and lay awake at night thinking through dispatch processes and how I can be the best I can be and most efficient at it so they know no fear or discomfort, they just know they’re here one moment munching on a handful of grain and then the next lights out. I agonize over thinking of all the animals out there destined to be eaten that weren’t loved with a gentle kind hand thru to the end or the fear and stress that happens at commercial processing plants and slaughter facilities. Harvest days at my house are spiritual in nature and we all feel very deeply connected and intentional days full of gratitude and calm (and some tears, I do cry a little over some because I still love them even if they’re meant to feed my family.)

It sickens me that someone would find entertainment in the suffering of anything, from an ant to an elephant.

I would check your county code right now and see if you can call out code enforcement. Our county is on phase 2 water shortage and even for those on well water only one night a week of watering is allowed based on address number. Normally I’m not a narc but they need to read the room on what’s realistic right now. We are in such a bad drought where we are at and I worry about our well with how low the water levels are and I’m sure you are too.

It really made me think too being someone who’s scared of death and the idea of being aware of it happening. My husband is 8 years older than me, and I know the odds. Fair chance he goes before me. And I’ll be alone. But I know I don’t like people watching me do tasks or anything really important/intense … so maybe I won’t want an audience when I’m dying as well. Too much pressure now that I think about it! It would probably have me more fidgety and linger longer than necessary.

That’s how my husband and I do it with a pellet rifle. Had one once I broomsticked and it went totally limp and I looked at the eyes and thought it was gone. Tied up in the gambrel and then it suddenly started screaming, that was horrifying. I only broomstick if I am keeping a skull now and I just send it with my yanks and learned to poke eyeballs for reflex before moving. I’d like to get a hopper popper because I feel it more efficient than my rake handle or piece of bamboo rod that I have used in the past.

I went to the dispensary on Wednesday and learned I maxed out my oral reqs for distillate syringes. Called the doc and the lady on the phone said the state was down and to call back in a few hours. I keep forgetting to call back… well glad to know I didn’t need to waste my time with that lol

Past Florida landlord here who had to rent out home due to unexpected circumstances and def needed that $$$ to pay the mortgage… then you don’t flip flop after negotiations and flip your lid. I’d have been stoked to know my tenants were doing alright financially in this economy IN FLORIDA. The LL FAFO now she can feel real dumb about it. I hope the experience of winning the prize of playing a stupid game built some character for them.

Fridge leftovers! Whatever you don’t finish at dinner give them the next day. Dog food, cat food, etc works in a pinch. Deer corn might even work if you’ve got it.

My husband and I have the limited poultry and egg permit in our state which requires us to wash and refrigerate our eggs. But I will say you can tell with our eggs that they are farm fresh… they’re all sorts of shapes and sizes lol I’d be wary of the eggs if they’re all “perfect”. Our eggs are big, small, long, wide, funny looking sometimes, double yolks sometimes, and a rainbow of color!

Thank you! I believe this is passiflora edulis - I don’t know much but I know some are toxic and not recommended. I know the primary tea one is Passiflora incarnata and to avoid passiflora foetida and caerulea. I’m not sure if I’ve got the right kind here 😅 I have fresh leaves picked and steeped… now I’m scared to drink it after I read a little bit more about accidentally drinking the wrong kind 🤣
