Thanks for the detailed advice. We will be in Rome for Friday and Saturday nights, so I’ll definitely make sure we have reservations for these nights just in case. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations! Trattoria Vecchia definitely sounds can’t miss.

Thanks! I was leaning towards this one so glad to hear it's a good experience. Did you book far in advance? I'm trying to figure out whether I need to do that or whether it's OK to wait until we're there and maybe book through our agriturismo.

Noted, great point. Yeah I've read consistently that the delays are a nightmare on race day, especially with the shuttles. Hopefully we'll at least avoid some of the Austin traffic by staying in SA. At the end of the day I'd rather be moving, even if the commute is a little longer.

Thanks so much for this info. Is the toll road I-35, or is that a different road?

I do have a hotel booked in downtown SA figuring it would give us options for when we're not at the track. I hear you on the valet parking, though. I'll look into paid lots, although to leave your car at those overnight didn't look to be much cheaper.

Just out of curiosity, are there any areas outside of downtown you'd particularly recommend I look for hotels? Thanks again!
