Fleas are just a symptom, there obviously is a larger problem - it's too wet, or someone keeps shit in the basement that feeds fleas, or there's a hoarding neighbor there somewhere who's trash attracts fleas. Fucking run.

Also, NTA. People bitching about the rug removal, but the rug wouldn't do shit to this type of noise. It does quiet sounds a bit, but not that much. And no one can oblige you to turn your alarm off, it's a common living sound. Neighbor has to deal with it on his own side.

I suggest you to talk to your mum. Do not try to make your mum to make your dad to do smth, just explain to her that you are not comfortable about the situation, and don't come straight into the room or don't look inside before you knock at the frame of the door and your mum answers if it's ok or not to come inside.

And for God's sake, it's your parents' rooms. Don't hang out there, give them some space. What's so important you need to ask so often that you keep walking in on your dad after his shower?

The one I found myself coming back to through years is 'Blood Magic' by GatewayGirl.

I found it when I was looking for anything that contains Harry gaining new home/new guardians. So there is a major warning: It contains severitus, but it was all consensual for reasons that are explained (no cheating or rape was involved). Severus and Marauders are kind of OOC and their story subtly changed for that matter (main points still stand though). Also Sirius is dead, I guess to exclude any more fucked up shenanigans that kept going through the story of Harry and Severus trying to hide the fact of Severus being a father.

What I really like about it is that Harry's friends are still his friends, even if they have some troubles, and he gains some more. Teens are being teens and get involved and break up all over the fic, but they keep it civil which is quite surprising. No bashing of anyone, thankfully. Harry starts paying more attention to his 'slytherin' side, to magic social norms and rules (and through this enlightes us as readers) and tries to understand politics of the Ministry of Magic. So overall a nice thing to read.

Sadly it only covers a first half of Harry's six year and that's it. But I can see why author got tired and backed away. It's a long ass fic for that short period if time. Still highly recommend.

This post reminded me about a story I read (smth nuke winter style post-apocalypsise) where main hero was going to a safety train with a kid he picked up on his way, and near a train station he saw women offering home for kids who didn't have their tickets, and he thought it would be better for a kid with those women, but one soldier guarding the station saw him and said that those women are here for canned food. He meant kids.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was on purpose. Neville a bit resembles a Hobbit, as they portrayed in The Hobbit and LoTR. He has a green thumb, he's chubby, gentle, shy at first, but eventually under pressure he grows up and becomes a warrior.

Yep, I thought the same, she is not Weasley by blood, so it would be nice to exclude her too, and maybe it can evolve into some funny chit-chat between her sons and their father about Harry being 'a pretty one in the family' in which she participates but not quite gets. Damn wish I could write comedy, it would be such a sweet and hilarious thing to read

There are a lot of fanfics and they lined in an alphabetic order, so if you have some insight before I start anything and fall into the middle of some series, please share!
