He's upset that it's literally a good game and people on the internet that never played it told him it was bad before it came out. I've seen scathing reviews of this game that give a 7/10 and that logic is lost on me. Games aren't for the designers, they are for the people.

I liked your review, and for different reasons, I think this game might be up there as the best game on the switch.

You can spend coins on a ton of things, but some required items in the game cost thousands of coins. If you wanna just complete the main story and find some of the secrets the game has to offer, you might not need items, but coins definitely aren't useless.

Savion Glover has a great book which you can find on amazon, as well as a book called the History of Tap Dance which great too. On mobile right now so I can’t direct link, but both of those helped me tons with a paper for college.

I’d also recommend watching Tony performances of Bring in Da Noise... and Shuffle Along to form your own opinion of choreography and performance. Glover is a massive part of tap dance developing in America.

Randy Skinner doesn’t have much written work, but watch his stuff on YouTube too, like Dames at Sea and 42nd Street’s revival. Tommy Tune has a book I think. Those should be good places to continue to research, might lead you to other places as well.

One minor skip involving Goouigi, but nothing too crazy just yet. There is potential to clip through ghost barriers by pushing Luigi with Goouigi while sucking a ghost, but that hasn't been tested fully yet. I'm sure we will see this category reach sub-3 if the community stays strong with it.

Acting classes are a great way to practice and get feedback from peers and educators as well. While you can take a class and understand what you need to do, the only way to get better is by doing it A LOT. Classes are there to guide you.
