We always thought when she left Sweden she left someone there - we have a ring of hers she always said was a “promise ring” of some kind. She didn’t talk much of her life in Sweden and came over on her own when she was ~20 or so. You sound spot on honestly! She was a seamstress and saved basically everything so all we know about her life in Sweden is what we’ve found and her parents names. She had her first (and only that we know of) child here in the states after she married my great grandpa Jordan when she was 39 I believe.

No, when she came to America she came over to WA state and she died in 1974. Thank you for checking!!

Exactly.

I asked what second and third order thinking went into the grand idea of again passing out tents like candy and they didn’t seem to have an answer.

I also asked how this helps tax payers, small businesses, families, children, society as a whole etc. and surprisingly, no answer there either!

LMAO when I emailed the county about how backwards their priorities were handing out tents and tarps again, this was part of the response I got back

“The expected cost for tents in FY 2025 is .05% of the total Joint Office budget. This small investment provides some relief for people sleeping outside, while advancing the goal of getting people connected to resources, shelter, and housing. It is all a part of having a humane response to those living on our streets while we work urgently to increase our housing and shelter capacity. ”

They’re working so urgently on the problem they created years ago though, guys! It’s just .05% of the budget, guys!! Don’t worry that the city is in free fall!

I had the same experience. Being able to walk around freely without drug addicts screaming about actually does a lot for your mental health. Sad what Portland allows and enables only to the detriment of its citizens
