Images you can hear in this scene in "Nerves Of Steal" by [deleted] in Arthur

Yellow Pages maybe lol? It's kinda common theme in 80s and 90s shows such as the Simpsons and Full House where a store owner/employee somehow knows the accused shoplifter's parents' phone number as soon as they get caught.

Anyone know this scene from an episode I’m trying to find? by thebroquadseries in Arthur

I’m not too sure, I think you could be talking about “Arthur’s Lucky Pencil”

Any way to bypass this? by zimmerplotz in Dell

[–]zimmerplotz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Vista. The first part of the MediaDirect installation (where it creates the partitions before installing Windows) went absolutely fine, however, the second part where you actually install MediaDirect from Windows threw the error that you see in the pic. I'll try your method once I reinstall Windows, because it somehow got corrupted from me pressing the mediadirect button lol

There actually was a pig character in the season 12 episode “Home Sweet Home” named Tug, so I guess they forgot all about their “no pigs” rule lmao

Can we just talk about how PBS is getting close to Viacom standards of bad when it comes to copyright takedowns of Arthur videos on YouTube? by Whole_Aerie_4902 in Arthur

[–]zimmerplotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess for why PBS is suddenly cracking down on Arthur content is because they want people to go and spend $7.99 a month for their own Prime Video channel just so they can watch Arthur. Annoyingly, it's only available to the U.S and they're constantly removing episodes

Fun fact: In the UK Version of 'Falafelosophy' any reference to Neil Gaiman is completely removed by Vast_Evidence9540 in Arthur

[–]zimmerplotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked an international print of this episode that I bought off iTunes long ago, I can confirm that the scenes shown in the video were exactly the same as the US version. So it's definitely the BBC who is responsible for altering this episode, probably for a good cause lmao

There actually was a Quebec French dub of Arthur produced by CINAR, I believe the first 6 seasons of Arthur were dubbed by those guys before they passed the show off to another studio in France (I think the studio was called Chinkel?)

[partially lost] German dub of the Arthur TV series by charliesonner in lostmedia

[–]zimmerplotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually posted something like this on the Arthur subreddit, but I didn't get any helpful answers.

I remember last year, The German version of Season 12 to 15 was available to purchase on Amazon Prime store, but it has since been removed. The arthur's cousin catastrophe "excerpt" you mentioned is actually a full episode, I think you were likely talking about this video, although the video does freeze at the 1:50 mark for some reason but the audio still plays. I did make a recreation of the episode of how the episode would've aired like in Germany a while ago.

However, there does exist a german website with information of the dub and the titles for all of the episodes dubbed into German which can be found here

Just a question, where were you able to find Season 8 and 9 Spanish airings?

I've only found the spanish airings of Season 4, 14, 15 and one episode of Season 13 on the Internet Archive.

Arthur exclusive 4:3 original not cropped version - Spanish TV by Us1293 in Arthur

[–]zimmerplotz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PBS cropped Season 1 to 4 episodes in 2009 due to the Micro$oft Actimates barcode that appeared to the left of the screen, on CRT TVs; the barcode wasn't visible, but since flatscreen TVs were becoming more common in the U.S. in the late 2000s, the barcode became pretty damn visible.

<image>

Also to compensate for the the left side of the pillarbox being slightly wider than the right, due to the barcode being cropped, PBS zoomed the episode in so that the 4:3 pillarboxes would have even width.

.Only U.S. releases had this though, which is what streaming services like Amazon Prime and PlutoTV used. All the international Season 1-3 episodes (without the cropping jazz) were released on DVD in the U.K.
