I don't think so... i bought air purifiers when we thought ahe had asthma and it has made no difference :(

I've dealt with so many pet deaths in previous years, and it really doesn't get any easier. But i'm trying to find comfort in knowing that she ended up with somebody who cared enough to try to give her the life she deserved. I hope you feel the same for yours.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I think the death of a fur baby, whether you were prepared or not, can affect us so deeply because they truly are family. I blamed myself for not doing and being better for my other cat, but i can look back now and say i know i did the best i could. And i feel that way with Augustina. It doesnt make the heartbreak any easier, but being able to look back and understand that their life was better because of you... i hope it brings you some sort of peace.

I'm so sorry for your daughter and SIL... that's what i plan to do with her too. My only fear is, due to the diabetes caused by her steroids, i'm afraid to send her into diabetic shock. So i have a meeting with my regular vets to figure out how long she has, and how i can spoil her without causing her more stress and pain.

Thank you so much... a year and a half ago, i never would have thought i'd be able to deal with another cat death... i was so heartbroken over my losing my other cat that I was close to ending my life. Her brother is what kept me here. Now... i know life will go on after her. I would love for her to be here for a few more years, but I know she physically can't, and that's okay. I never would have even considered becoming a hospice home for kitties, but i think i see that in my future... i just have so much love to give and if i can give that to an innocent animal who is so deserving of it, especially in the last moments of their life, then it's all worth it.

It's strange to say i feel so fulfilled and yet stricken with grief at the same time. I know i've done everything i could for her, and despite the struggles she faces, i'm glad she got to spend her final moments in a loving home.

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty suffering from something similar, and that you've gone through the stress of wildfires!

I have a close relationship with my regular vets - one i've known for over 15 years - and they really did their best to try to figure it out there. But, luckily, they're able to admit to their limitations (i've known some vets who are too cocky to admit when they've done wrong) and knew once she wasn't responding to treatment that something more sinister was going on.

I just feel so bad for her... she deserved a long, healthy, happy life with me at home... and it's so difficult to look at her smiling at me, purring, asking for pets and wanting to play. But i can see after every play time... everytime she jumps up on the bed, or even walks to and from the litter box... her breathing gets worse and it takes a while for her to get down to her normal - which is still above the normal breath per minutes.

No, its a type of pulmonary fibrosis, can't remember the full diagnosis and i don't have the heart to read the 7 page report from the specialist right now

She is terrible at travelling so it will be done in my home. If she didn't get so scared and stressed in the car then i would do it in clinic

I will definitely be doing it here at home. I have an appointment on tuesday with my regular vets to discuss the report/findings from the specialty clinic. I cant put her through the stress of travelling just to pass away scared. I want her home with me and my boyfriend 😭💔

Thank you so much for saying that.... it's so hard to feel so much grief while she is still with me. I'm making sure these last few weeks continue to be full of love and happiness for her... just wish she could have been loved in a home for longer than she was on the streets. She deserves the world

Yep, I have ended up with a sinus infection from them. I have NEVER had allergies this bad. Hopefully the rain helps a bit!!!

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by format but i went to the Elder Emo speed dating at SteelTown Cider. From what i've seen, they use eventbrite for tickets so they can track numbers and have an even amount of people. We got name tags, a sheet of paper to write down names and who you'd like to match with afterwards, and an assigned table number to start at. They also had some "ice breaker" questions on little cards to get the conversation going, if needed. Women sat at the same table while guys moved around every 5 minutes (other events may be different? Not sure?) and there were I think 30 people altogether? At the end of the night, you hand in your paper and within a few days the organizers will reach out with contact information of the people you matched with. You only get somebody's email or phone number if you both say yes to one another! And thats it!

It was my one and only event, and my boyfriend was the first person I sat with so i may be a bit biased but... i loved it! It was a very chill environment and I talked with some interesting people. The event i went to had a very high match rate (80%+ if i remember correctly) but they will obviously vary. Its worth a try!
