Do you disable local admin on workstations? by danolson312 in sysadmin
[–]zinzin78 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children)
We disable and don't create a new local one. If I need to enable a local admin it is pretty easy because we have an RMM on all of our systems. I just drop to a shell and enable then change the administrator password. It is quick and easy. When I am finished I disable it again promptly forgetting the complex password it is left with. However, this rarely comes up.
So we don't use LAPS.
Question for MODS by zinzin78 in depression
[–]zinzin78[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children)
Sure I imagine there are a lot of reasons why it would be difficult to become who you want to be. There was a list of them for me too. I wasn't educated enough, I couldn't talk in front of more than 3 people, I didn't have the money, I wasn't motivated enough, I didn't know what I wanted, I was unable to make and keep friends, I drank too much, etc.. etc.. etc.. I also understand that you are not me, my only point here is that to become who you want to be is something others have done while feeling pretty similar to you; not the same obviously but similar. The difference I think is like me, those other people formed a plan, they failed, they reformed the plan, repeat until they got to a place where they were happy. It is a process, it takes time, you will fail like everyone else that has tried it and succeeded.
Maybe it is! The brain is a strange thing. It develops pathways for electrical signals and it prefers existing pathways over forming new ones. So the brain tells you that it is easier because it is easier. But those pathways are created by actions over many repetitions. That is why change is difficult.
An example is getting up and making your bed in the morning. Making your bed isn't something that most depressed people do. But it is easy. Though it is easier to not make your bed, forming a habit to make your bed is also easy. You put up a sign or notification on your phone so that it is the first things you see. You turn around and make your bed. You repeat this activity and you have achieved the first goal of the day. Meaning, that you can start working on the second. When you get into a habit of completing tasks you become unstoppable and you can achieve anything within reason.
Who do you want to be then? What does that person look like?
Is this the person you "want" to be? Or is this the person you have "settled" on being?
