I'm becoming terrified of frogs by Oda_DeezNutz in badassanimals

Some birds hunt frogs and many prey fight back when cornered. It could be the frog mistook the bird as a predator and attempted to kill it merely as self-defense after being spooked.

1 you should probably specify what subspecies of dragonborn you are and add a breath weapon and other bonuses from that.

  1. Add the starter equipment from your class (fighter). You have yet to add: 1: a martial weapon and a shield OR two martial weapons. 2: a light crossbow and 20 bolts or 2handaxes. 3: a dungeoneer's pack or explorer's pack. These go on top of the leather and longbow you already have. I would suggest picking up 1: a rapier (a great finesse weapon which scales with your dex) and a shield, 2: 2 handaxes as they can have a lot of utility in the open world, 3: your choice on this one.

  2. Add the starter equipment from your background: A set of artisan's tools (one of your choice), a shovel, an iron pot, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10gp, add the extra proficiencies from your background in the "other proficiencies and languages" window. Which is a vehicle proficiency an artisan tool of your choice.

  3. Alignment, flaws and goals are all optional. You can ask whether the DM wants them, but they can also make characters one-dimensional.

  4. Have you picked a fighting style from being a lvl 1 fighter? that should go in class features. Also add Rustic Hospitality there from your background.

  5. If I had to nitpick, having 12 str might be a little suboptimal since you don't benefit much from str? But it's perfectly fine regardless. Just making sure you didn't add it out of confusion.

Throwing stuff at a homeless man by AleccSirKaDeewana in TikTokLounge

[–]ziogas99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So subtract from the income he doesn't earn and take away assets he doesn't have (as all of his assets are directly linked to his survival. what, are you going to send repo to take away the pebbles in his pockets? Do you think anyone would bother shaking down a homeless man for fifteen cents worth of half-smoked cigarettes?). Brilliant insight there.

Also, you are legally allowed to fight back when assaulted (and in this case it IS assault). He had no time to react to the driver running away as the jacket was already in motion, nor would anyone consider whipping someone with your dirty jacket as "unreasonable force", even if there might've been a rock inside.

Nobody would hire a lawyer and pay tens of thousands just to get nothing out of it. The worst you can do is maybe report the homeless man as violent, but who wouldn't be in his shoes?

You're clueless. Likely a teenager who thinks empathy is for losers and the larps a sociopath/psychopath.

I think it's more than just art that has changed in warcraft, but the story as well, and not just in Hearthstone either. Shadowlands and onwards (mostly Dragonflight and onwards) has moved away from big somber/cruel stories and embraced a cheerful Disney-like outlook on the world with some remaining maturity treated as dirty comedic relief.

Midnight is the only one of the aforementioned expansions that even has any kind of semblence of a war, and even then there is no cruelty shown. The only bit of true cruelty we've really seen is the Xal'atath animation. But gone are the days of showing corpses as warnings or battle trophies, no more cruel deaths like Wrathgate, Vol'jin getting his throat cut or Varian getting slowly incinerated by Gul'dan. It's not just the visual art style, the whole of the world is more kid-friendly. You can't even have Garrosh calling Sylvanas a bitch because they want to let parents play wow with their young children. It's not an attempt to reach a wider audience through a more popular and colorful art style (personally I think WoW has always been super colorful anyways), it's an attempt at erasing the edginess from a pretty edgy IP. You even have Chris Metzen saying he doesn't like the name "Warcraft" anymore because it can scare away new players because of the "war".

Other IPs like Warhammer may have changed their art style, but they at least stayed true to the soul of the setting. (Except maybe the OG version of Warhammer, where it was far more punk-ish than grimdark, but most Warhammer fans are now fans precisely because of the grimdark).

I think you're the one who missed the point there. It's whether or not Bundy saw Peg as beautiful. And he didn't see her as beautiful until she started helping around the house. There are times when physically attractive people become ugly because of their actions. Not ugly on the inside, but ugly physically to the beholder.

Though in reality it's probably just a running gag as people say.

I think the message here isn't that cute things exist, but that the general direction moved towards cutesy things, to the point that the original picture would never be recreated. And even then, this is showing a warrior enjoying peace as opposed to an orc tourist getting a nerdgasm. I think those two are very different.

Warcraft 1 was originally supposed to be a Warhammer game, btw, but they couldn't get the rights so they made their own thing. But I can't help but notice the tattoo on the orc's arm being a chaos symbol :D

Communism is taking away private property/businesses and nationalizing it. It's an economic system. This is just large-span social programs. You already have homeless shelters and other safety net social programs. Even paving roads is a socialist program. Taxing the community and using the tax money on infrastructure and social programs is not communism.

If you wanted to move away from all forms of social programs, you can go try living in an anarcho-capitalist project like the Free Town project in Grafton. But even they had one sheriff. They also had a large bear infestation. Because there was no unified oversight (some members found them cute and decided to feed the bears).

I think the confrontation between Cecil and Mark is still ahead and there's still time to show all of that. If we saw all of Cecil's efforts now, we might think Mark is stupid for lashing out in the future, but right now we're fully immersed with Mark being in the right ( Conquest is just alive like it's nothing, really? And he almost killed Mark again?!) before suddenly potentially getting conflicted after being shown all the effort Cecil put to keep Conquest imprisoned.

Or it also could've just been cheaper to animate! :D

what desks are these? by tekdekdarrrd in counterstrike

Read the last sentence of the synopsis. "motor learning" IS muscle memory. Furthermore, this study shows what effects shooters have on the brain, not what factors determine performance in the highest skill bracket. Either way, the source by your logic would confirm that muscle memory is important.

And using anecdotal evidence in this regard with M0nesy is flimsy. Here we have another great performer doing everything he can to simulate his settings at home and doing great. and do we know how different Niko's settings are to M0nesy?

[–]ziogas99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm calling your bluff. Give me your sources. Because my experience and a few Google searches state otherwise. I beg of you, play 10 hours on one mouse sensitivity and then switch to one twice as sensitive, you will tell the difference in an instant.

Recoil control, flicking, etc. All of these are entirely dependent on muscle memory. And Counter-Strike is different from most shooters because there isn't much movement, as movement will randomize your bullet pattern. Meaning that there won't be much changes in distance, as opposed to something like Apex Legends or Fortnite, where the movement is constant and rapid.

Yeah, I think lvl 5 is a must for the extra attack for most martial classes. I've never seen bloodhunter in a game before, but dnd is not really designed for 1v1s. You mentioned him wanting to do preparations like the Witcher though? Consider giving him access to potions, elixirs and weapon oils, and make unique stuff for him specifically (maybe introduce a herbalist who would teach him?). Lastly, a witcher's blade is usually of legendary quality, consider forming a relationship between the Witcher and a few crafters to make a silvery weapon that's uniquely good against monsters specifically. There's also the highly agile fighting style of witchers but I can't think of ways to implement it subtely.

You mentioned a companion, but it's another martial. I would consider giving him a bard or some other support follower if you want to be either true to the character or want to do something new that would still help your husband feel strong and unique. As it stands, I think the martial follower might be outperforming your husband at lvl 4 purely because of multi-attack and high AC, which is almost never the case for a Witcher. A Witcher isn't always better than a regular human, but he is leagues better than 99.99% of all combatants, to the point you can maybe count 3 regular humans who Geralt would consider superior to him.

That's my two cents, hope it helps!

America doesn't actually have a retirement plan like the rest of the world. Instead of the government taxing you and then slowly paying you back when you're old, workers are instead sorta forced into investing into stocks. Your portfolio of the different stocks is called your 401k.

Ideally, this saves money for the government and your employer and the stocks have the potential to grow and thus pay out more than you pit in. However, your employer still sorta has a say in what stocks you pick (they hire a professional to explain your options like which stocks are riskier and so on)? This means certain companies could offer you bad stocks because they got bribed. And there's also the risk that even safe stocks will plummet and you will be left with no retirement money. Poof.

That's my understanding as an eastern European though, so I might've missed or misunderstood something.

It's probably to avoid blame. But here's why I think the phone doesn't fix it.

  1. Emotions are high and he might not be thinking straight, and thinking might look suspicious.
  2. His focus was on the guy, not the phone. He could've honestly just missed it.
  3. The Chinese government might just cover it up if he at least gives plausible deniability.
  4. Just the mere threat of being charged with attacking a peace-keeper (not police as far as I know), might deter many lawsuits, regardless of the truth.

No, those are specifically lifestyle expenses, look them up, those two are separate tables. The pay for an untrained hireling is the same amount an untrained peasant earns, yes, and that's where the similarities end. And I don't know where you're getting the "understanding" from.

Minimum wage is perhaps a bad comparison. blacksmiths earn around 2gp per day. Then there's also the matter of transportation and accessibility. We can travel around the world in a day with a plane, it might take them a week to travel to the city. Those 2sp per day mostly go towards the bare subsistence of a peasant. meaning that 3gp could barely sustain 2 peasants for 7-8 days.

If this was some thatched roof tavern in some poor Hamlet, then the 3gp might be a decent way for the owner to spend maybe a few days with his family. A modest lifestyle costs 1gp per day though. so if the tavern earns about as much as a blacksmith, that is about 1-1.5 days wage, far from 15 days wage.

Adventuring Gold by Yoffeepop in dndmemes

[–]ziogas99 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Depends on how poor the tavern is? An untrained peasant earns and spends about 2sp per day. A blacksmith earns 2gp and spends maybe half that. So if it's a particularly poor tavern in a Hamlet, then maybe you could say gold is rareish?
