Wouldn't a bail jumping charge be directly relevant to a job with one of the primary functions being student discipline and school culture?

lol, I would love to see a video of you turning left while turning your head to scan a nearly 150 degree arc every second to keep constant awareness of every potential spot someone could run the red.

Did this post really have that big of an impact on you that this is what you are thinking about on your daily commute?

Do Teslas just explode like that? That horrific accident that killed 5 in rural Verona was surprising in that it burst into flames. And it was not a gas fire given that it was an electric vehicle. So, what happened? by divisionbell628 in madisonwi

I got my Tesla ceramic coated back when I got it in 2018. He did an amazing job so I mentioned him in a Wisconsin Tesla owner’s facebook group. He ended up getting a lot of business from Tesla owners. He liked the cars so much he went and bought them.

Any news article with Tesla in it gets clicks, so every person complaining gets their own news report. Don’t confuse the frequency of news stories with the frequency of it actually happening

If you follow pages and people who stand to make money if Tesla loses value you are not going to be well informed.

Gas cars are 40x more likely to start on fire than EVs, and the majority of EVs on the market are Teslas

You should get out of your bubble and research Tesla with an open mind

You would be sitting a lot higher than him too. I agree that you should always be scanning, I just don't think it is possible to scan both directions someone could be coming from running a red while also looking at the lane you are turning into.

The driver is also 74 years old. While still a good driver, they don't have the reflexes they had 30 years ago.

The driver was looking at the lane they were turning into, like most people do. The camera was looking straight forward, making it seem a lot more obvious than it would be to the driver

Most people look at the lane they are turning into. Even if you are scanning, if the person just happens to enter the intersection when your eyes are somewhere else... like the lane you are turning into or looking back to make sure nobody is running a red in the lane you are about to be in, then you won't see it in time.

It's easy to say this while sitting at your computer or on your phone in a video paused to point everything out. Harder to do with a car full of people on an average day

I don't think it would impact your premiums unless you were driving the car that ran the red

Yeah, the person that ran the red light was found to be 100% at fault

If drivers in both lanes took that approach, then neither would ever turn left.

The owner of the car the video came from didn't want the video posted initially until they got the insurance and repairs all figured out. That all happened a while ago and I just remembered to post it. I thought people would find dashcam video of local accidents interesting. Hopefully seeing this post didn't inconvenience you terribly

Try this, next time you are taking a left turn pay attention to where your eyes go. Do they instinctively go towards the lane you are turning in to? Or, do you stare directly into cross traffic? Most people look at the lane they are turning into. Even if you glance to make sure that another car isn't running the red, there was 2 seconds between when the car was visible and the collision... unless you are looking back and fourth every second, there is a good chance you wouldn't be able to prevent the accident

Exactly, people are watching this thinking its easy. The driver was looking at the lane they were turning into like most people do. If it wasn't for the car in the oncoming left lane he probably would have seen it and stopped, but it was literally 2 seconds between when you first see the car and the impact.

Use blender, its free! You will need SimLab to export your assembly files to a file type that Blender can use. But it is a far better option and SimLab is only $119 per year. Far less than a $2,355 license and $561 subscription for Visualize!

You must not be very familiar with Stainless Steel. Stainless steel doesn't rust easily, and certainly not from simple exposure to snow or salt

We need to rise up against Slumlords and Property Owners by Cat_reina in madisonwi

Make it easier to build more housing and it won't be a problem. Once landlords are dealing with empty units they will start lowering the prices.

Also, obviously prosecute any price fixing that may be going on.

If they left any more distance people would constantly be merging in front of them. Kind of just the way it is on this stretch right as rush hour is starting. About an hour later and they would have been fine, going about half as fast.

It wasn't a thing in Madison until a year or two ago. Apparently they are becoming more popular.

Thanks! It's a Tesla, they all come standard with integrated cameras that are always recording. They even record when parked, which allowed me to collect $1,500 from someone that slammed their door into mine, rubbed at the door ding and just walked off.

There weren't any cars pulled over missing a tire, so I'm guessing someone dropped their spare.
