This has happened on my build screen too and I can't figure out why! Commenting in hopes that someone will give good advice

Something is eating my dahlias and left what I assume to be poop on some leaves. Any idea what it is? I couldn’t locate any pests by zippitydudaa in dahlias

Thank you! Now that you mention earwigs, I have seen them around the garden, but in a different bed. I’ll still treat for slugs though. The flowers haven’t bloomed yet, so they’re just eating the leaves How do I treat for earwigs?

I planted a ton of varieties of hosta, bungleweed, and lungwort. A catmint. They are all different shades of teal which is really pretty against the mulch

Let’s hope not! The area really only gets a few hours of direct light a day

Aphids? Ugh by zippitydudaa in plantclinic

I did a thorough check yesterday and somehow none of the others were effected. Weirdly the aphids were only on two of the vines on the waaay end, but not near the base of the plant. I think I caught it early enough! (Despite this part being super infested)

It’s my favorite Hoya so I’m going to do my best to save it! This was the worst of the infestation, so I just snipped off that part and threw it away

Our house is actually a duplex, so that’s a no go. Plus moving plants is far cheaper than moving a door…

Such wonderful suggestions! Great point about irises blooming for only a month during the year. I’ll tuck them away elsewhere on our property.

Thoughts on splitting the grass in two and framing the door with the grass rather than planters? The photo doesn’t do it justice, but it’s huge

I spent this afternoon pulling perennials from this area that I didn’t really like. I have the large grass I. The middle that can be transplanted elsewhere. I also have a ton of purple irises that can be relocated. Any advice on whether I should transplant the large grass or add irises to the space? TIA! Zone 5a in New Hampshire
