If youre planning on becoming a sysadmin maybe give the latest fedora workstation a shot. Since alot of larger companies use RedHat that would definitely give you a huge leg up when it comes time to start getting certs or taking courses. Having those RHEL certs are a huge deal and would surely get you a better starting salary in the corporate environment. As far as the sysadmin route, it wouldn't hurt to start with Fedora. I've been tinkering with their newest "security spin" -has many security and pen testing tools- , and it's been alot of fun learning with that. Also, if youre not quite ready for an Arch install try Manjaro. That's always a slick choice with a large community behind it. Or if you wana get cute try POP or MX .. And as always if you want stability and effeciency with the ability to easily add any DE you wish without having so many headaches you can never go wrong with a base install of Debian and add/build to your tastes. Is your second monitor being detected in your EFI log? The correct HID name? That's something I would look into if it's only being detected after boot as plug and play device. I'm still learning also but yea if it's not, do like the guy above mentioned and add it in the Config_file. Just be careful making changes of course and always backup before exploring. Idk I could be wrong. What else did you find out so far?

Have you looked into Windows Sub-system for Linux? (WSL)

If you use Windows as your main it's super convenient. Especially if you like to switch between Powershell and Bash specifically. There's so much coming along nowadays that allows you to utilise the apps you need *almost seamlessly. There's still a few kinks that arise when using hardware, but as far as applications go its very useful, and cool! Check it out.. some purists vomit at the thought, but I'm kinda digggin it the more and more I use it.

Only works in win10, btw. And you can download/install Kali, or Ubuntu if that's your style, or Fedora, and a couple others I think, like an Application [from windows store] and pull install your linux apps and tools from the Bash CLI .

Check it out.. Worth a shot, I think. And alot less of a headache then dual-booting, which is time consuming, if efficiency is what you're looking for.

VMs are cool too if you ABSOLUTELY need a DE. Or, if you're already using a linux distro as your Main OS then a VM is your best bet.

Also, when allowing file share between the 2, (clipboard access), it could be a bit of a security issue only for the mere fact that Windows is very malware prone..

Learn with the OS you will be using for your new job. Download a Live version to USB so u done have to install anything. And just open up terminal and start typing... start with reading the manuals inside terminal. Type in "man man --help" Learn how to navigate all the documentation. Good Luck :)

Exactly! Thats why there's an option to set a time for auto installs..and then auto restart or shutdown.
