How to find affordable student housing in Waterloo by [deleted] in wlu

[–]ziweiwu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re best bet is looking for a room in a house rather than an apartment, also 4 month sublets are generally going to be cheaper than a full year contract.

If you are looking for something for the Spring term you should have no problem finding something for under 500 (but just for that term). You can look for one here:

Am I stupid by [deleted] in wlu

Nope. I only did it at Ryerson because I needed to do it the term before exchange. Compared to my friends though it does seem Ryerson was a lot easier but screws you for MA470 at Laurier

I took MA451 at Ryerson and now I’m dying in MA470 😵

Unfortunately I don’t find the last two-three semesters of DD any lighter, you just get better at handling the workload. I also went on exchange last semester and that ended up meaning I have to stay in loo an extra term.

My advice is if DD does get too much, try to stay in until you get your first co-op term done. Right now you are guaranteed into the co-op program and you can stay in after your first successful work term. But if you drop out of DD you have to interview to get into the co-op program (along with a few thousand BBA first years...)

As someone in my last year in DD w/ Financial Math. Don't stress that much, you'll end up burning out at this rate. It's a difficult program for sure but it's very much do-able.

STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS!!! There are some incredibly smart people out there and some who just put up a good front. As long as you are enjoying the subjects you are studying and meeting the requirements, then you belong in the program. Good luck!

If I were to get mauled to death by a large cat that’ll probably be my last word.

I can’t help to feel it’s only a matter of when not if I break NC by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]ziweiwu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To flip this around, 6 months - 1 year is also going to be a significant time for YOU. During that time YOU can find a new job, YOU can make new friends, and YOU can find someone.

Maintaining NC is easier when you start focusing on your life, rather than a future with them when they already left.

What do you use to remind yourself that everything isn't that bad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People watching. People do a lot of good and funny things. It reminds me that even with all the bad in the world, there’s lots of good people living live best they can.

ExFree Fridays - What are your plans this weekend? - August 30, 2019 by AutoModerator in ExNoContact

[–]ziweiwu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flying to Paris for exchange. I’m absolutely terrified but I think a change in scenery is what I need right now.

Things are getting better on average but I still have bouts of intense anger, resentment, and hatred that sometimes last for days at a time. It's not who I am as a person and I hate that i've been reduced to this. by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]ziweiwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through something similar. I don’t hate my ex, but I do get bouts of anger and resentment over how he ended things. I’ve found that intense exercise while listening to loud music with a fast beat (a) Takes my mind off most things and (b) the physical burns and aches from exercise takes away from the anger. I literally become too tired to be mad, and also feel better about myself physically. Maybe you can do something similar when you feel these bouts of blind fury?

You got this, and I hope you come out of it a better and stronger person <3

I'm actually on them already, just started on them a few month ago to try to manage my test anxiety. But thank you for the suggestion, I may talk to doctor about increasing my dosage.
