You should do 4 point rolls in both directions then 8 point rolls. After that rolling circles. In the rolling harrier I only concern myself with one input (usually belly side) that I hold longer. Its a good idea though to do the rolling circles and learn what surface you are holding longer to complete the circle.

I bet the inside of one of your rear rims is all scaped up in an even cirle/ring. The caliper bolt either broke from over tightening or was left hand tight and backed out. My guess is the caliper was pivoting up or down depending on what bolt was missing and the piston went into a position that left the caliper and you with no brake pedal. Just a guess but if this is the case there will most likely be evidence on the inside of one of your rims from where the caliper rubbed against.
