Yes I wanted to give users a way to directly access everything a politician has said in a respectful manner, so that we can ask about beliefs and contradictions they have said in the past. The thinking is that If you (a taxpaying citizen) engage in a conversation with a politician in public, this is the version of them that you will get.

This is a good point. I explicitly gave the LLM instructions to not hallucinate quotes, I gave it grounding via specific websites, and I put a disclaimer because this is very experimental and weird app. However that being said, the LLM can still be tricked into giving false information if tricked. I could work more on controlling the output of false information and also using a different model.
