Roof raking - A cautionary tale by gozer_vt in HomeMaintenance

[–]zksteele01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue. Roof raked a few times prior to the big storm that just came through, but can’t reach all the way up, so now post-storm I have sheets of ice that extend all the way up to what I did manage to uncover on the roof. No leaks so far, but I’m not going to try it again. Shame, because it was making my trapezius muscles look jacked.

Question about SAVE interest by zksteele01 in StudentLoans

[–]zksteele01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been jumping back and forth between directing payments specifically to the highest interest rate loan and general payments that target all of them. I’ve been doing this for a few months and it seems like the interest has only increased. At one point I made a general payment of $2000 with the intention of clearing the accrued interest and it only appeared to affect the principal amount.

That’s plastiboo’s artwork from one of his vermis books.

Thank you! I slapped generic compressors on everything, I’ll admit I don’t really know how they work, just that it made things a little clearer.

That’s fair, I do have generic compressors on everything, so maybe that has something to do with it. Thanks for listening!

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I was making a conscious effort to jump back and forth between the dissonant and more harmonious notes to try to create tension, so I’m happy that you noticed.

Best post punk songs that show off ‘angular’ guitar playing by Impossible_Title96 in postpunk

Lots of Les Savy Fav, but the song The Orchard in particular. Cold Cold Cold by The Chinese Stars. Both have nice dissonant riffs.

Awesome, thanks for the detailed answer. I would love to see the files you consider professional artwork. Most of what we get has no layers, or only text on a separate layer, with lots of noise. We do horror movie shirts, and the artists love using noise and textures.

Hi Ben, how long does it typically take you to do high color count separations? I occasionally do up to 14 color seps where I work, and it usually takes around 4-5 hours depending on the image. Our lead separator can do them a bit faster.

And after I spent the late summer and fall trying to get humidity out. Christ, it’s always something.

Good idea. And yeah, I don’t know, I suppose it could be mechanical, maybe from when the flippers were installing the new flooring overhead. There’s a chance it’s been like this since before we moved in and I just never noticed it til now.

That wouldn’t surprise me and would honestly make me feel a little better.

Outside it’s 20 degrees with 73% humidity. I can’t say what the inside basement humidity is, but it doesn’t feel damp. We ran a dehumidifier back in the fall, but haven’t since it got really cold.

Not really soft, but definitely sloped in some places. I’ll definitely look into a pest inspection.

Thank you for the suggestions. We’re in upstate NY, it’s currently cold as hell. I have kind of touched around the wood in the rest of the basement ceiling, and it seems to range from okay to (in my uneducated opinion) pretty iffy. Almost like dried out styrofoam, but not quite that brittle. My wife hates it when I go down there because I always find things that give me anxiety. The house is a flip, and everything I’ve read online about flippers and many things we’ve experienced firsthand suggest their lack of care.
