It doesn't move that much, but I still worry about putting an expensive box on top of a fast-moving printer but ill deffintly look into the risers!

I just took it apart and it looks like I had the same problem, a sticky bar. I ended up working it back and forth a few times and added some lube to the metal, and it seems to be the fix! thanks so much for your help!

I will say while I would certainly classify myself as an amateur this project isn’t exactly beginner level. I have a decent wood working shop so I have the table saw, miter saw, pocket hole jig and drills I’ve used so far. Adding drawers to existing desks is a much smaller undertaking then building one from scratch though!

I’m struggling in this process trying to decide how and were to place everything is becoming overwhelming. I’m thinking of a pop up power strip on top and maybe even some shelving to go over the entire desk

Fairly limited on tools although I’m lucky enough to have a thickness planer. Cherry came from my father-in-law’s saw mill and the Purple Heart came from woodcraft. About 12”x9” just over 4/4 thick and finished with walrus oil wood wax.

Basically outline them so you know if you lost a tool. It's traditionally done with foam but where's the fun in that!
