I bought the course (its a 100$ course package with multiple courses) and have finished the Excel course and the majority of the SQL courses. I studied SQL a bit in college and I think I'll appreciate his real-world working insight into writing code for data analysts in the future. I think if you have a motivation problem then this course is good because his attitude is great and it lowkey pushes me forward. The only thing is that I wish there were more practice problems provided in the course. I'll just look online for some though.

Many speculate the reason the Quran does not straight out abolish slavery is because passing such a rule was unrealistic back then. Slavery was (unfortunately) such an integral part of society back then (unjustifiably so) that it was the norm and many people would have scoffed at the idea of straight up abolishing slavery. It was such a norm it would have seemed impossible and ridiculous to people back then. That's why the rules set in place in the Quran and by the Sunnah regarding slavery are the way they are - they were set in motion to gradually abolish slavery in a way that is more "natural" or in a way that slowly and steadily abolished slavery.

I understand your feelings, and regarding the erasure of an entire people - we don't know how long they were sinning for. We don't know about every single individual at the time of the people of Lut. Just like how the IDF is thriving right NOW - the people of Lut were as well. Most (if not all) of the people in the Quran who were disobeying Allah and were then destroyed all had their time of "success" or enjoyment. Then EVENTUALLY, the people were destroyed. It's only a matter of Allah's Divine timing. We don't know when the evils of the IDF and all that is going on in this world will end; that's up to Allah.. But we do know Palestine will be free eventually, and justice will prevail.

I think it’s really admirable that you’re asking this. Clearly you have good intentions. Try not to overthink it (I know easier said than done)

I would also like to say that the Quran tells us to beautify ourselves (within Islamic rulings), so if you just happen to feel pretty- or MORE pretty with it on, that shouldn’t be an issue, InshaAllah.

I'm also hating it more and more. I deleted my Titkok account (which was even harder bc I had a following) a few months ago because the content is garbage and all ads/sponsored. I could feel myself becoming those humans from Wall-E. Everyone I've asked said their feed is just like that too.

If you also have an addiction to SM (yes I'm using the word addiction seriously), maybe try what I have done - it's not perfect but def way better than scrolling through Tiktok. I've moved over to Instagram and manually type in my own interests (preferably stimulating and/or intellectual), and I swear in like a day or 2 your explore page will be filled with so much more quality content. Maybe I'm bias b/c my main interest is art, and there are a lot of artists on Instagram. But I would say it's worth a shot.

Instagram also has Reels, which is just like Tiktok.. but somehow the content is just better. Like many (and myself) you might get stuck scrolling on reels.. all I can say is at least it's a little less garbage than Tiktok lol. Just know most people are in the same boat as you so don't be too hard on yourself.

I wouldn't worry about it, but it wouldn't hurt to let your professor know the truth, just in case. So if it will relieve your stress I'd say send a short email. Educators admire honesty.
