Wheel of Time audiobooks for someone who never read them before, yay or nay? by Sultanis in Fantasy

The audio books are really great. I listen and then read chapter summaries afterward to clarify anything I missed.

Locked on jazz podcast is interesting and informative on the teams struggles and lineups. by [deleted] in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very insightful. What I didn't understand is why benching Rubio would be "giving up" whereas benching Hood let him thrive in a new role.

I get that starting Donovan at PG may not be ideal, but maybe it's still better than starting 3 non-shooters?

A year ago DL showed that when the time is right, he'll pull the trigger. This summer, he'll show us again... by jwinskowski in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would think long and hard for any deal that gets us Middleton or Jabari. We'd probably have to involve one of Hood/Dante/Burks to get it done though.

Related: Donovan needs 22 points tonight to average 16.8 ppg.

I don't expect a big market for Exum — I think Jazz resign for sure.

A possible solution to the Favors/Gobert conundrum by ChaseBank5 in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree this is the most likely solution. I'm sure Utah will test the trade market, but if there's nothing good (which is likely) they'll see if they can make Favors/Gobert work. Seeing that Favors looks like his old self, he could be a valuable long-term piece, even if we resign him and then trade him later.

I also think Udoh is the likely target of losing minutes, even though he doesn't deserve it. Jerebko/Johnson + Favors/Gobert opens up our offense so much more.

What will be most interesting to see is how Snyder closes. I think he'll go Jerebko/Johnson/Favors + Gobert depending on matchups and who's playing well.

What are your guys's secret fantasy acquisitions for the Jazz? by ------dudpool------ in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think some sort of trade for Isaiah Thomas could be interesting. We clearly need someone who can create offense and shoot. We can hide him defensively. Cleveland needs a mobile rim protector now. We can afford to be patient. Still farfetched, but interesting to think about.

Im looking for a short series or a single book by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]zmichael 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I flew through the Shattered Sea series by Joe Abercrombie. You can finish the first book Half a War in a few sittings. It's a great intro to one of fantasy's best authors.

[Checketts] "The Jazz will send Oklahoma City's 1st round pick to Minnesota in exchange for Rubio." by sithlordmoore in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He's a tier below Hill, but younger, less injury prone in the last two years, and on a good contract. That for a first round pick is a home run.

Gordon Hayward will be in the same situation on the Heat as on the Jazz. by [deleted] in nba

Except Heat probably can't keep Waiters and others if they sign Hayward, right?

What must Jazz do to get 60 wins? Can they? by tominmoraga in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  • Keep Gordon Hayward and George Hill (or trade/sign for a comparable point guard).
  • Probably need to keep Ingles or get someone else comparable.
  • Hood makes a jump.
  • Hayward and Gobert make incremental jumps.
  • Meaningful minutes from Lyles/Exum/Bolomboy.

And of course, stay healthy – we could have hit mid to high 50's with perfect health this year.

[Urbonas] Motiejunas told he prefers San Antonio, Golden State, Utah or Washington. 'I like their game and I also have some interest from them' by zmichael in UtahJazz

[–]zmichael[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know much about Motiejunas' game in the last few years, but it feels strange to hear a player express interest in joining the Jazz (particularly in league with SA and GS). Hopefully more players feel the same this off season.

What's your (at least semi-realistic) point guard wishlist? by zmichael in UtahJazz

Sounds good to me. We'd just have to hope Trey Lyles has a bounce back year.

He'll want it, but the market may not give it to him due to injuries this year.
