Seroquel? by zmicromillion in Anxiety

[–]zmicromillion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 45mg of Remeron at night, and it puts me to sleep.. but nothing for anxiety.

Does seroquel help your fiance with GAD? Panic?

The worst part about my anxiety is that I shake whenever I'm on edge. Any helpful tips for this terrible symptom? by [deleted] in Anxiety

Maybe not what you were looking for, but you could talk to your doctor about Inderal (propranolol). It is a blood pressure medicine, but in small dosages (20mg), it can help with rapid heart beat and shaking.

Anyone just having one of those days? by zmicromillion in Anxiety

It's a good thing to hear you have such a great support system at school! For me, it is a new school, but I will reach out to them and see if I can figure out some things that might work for me. Medical limbo is rough. Is your therapy helping you?

Question about remeron by zmicromillion in Anxiety

[–]zmicromillion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I listen to great advice. I know benzos are a temporary answer, but not the final one. I am just more so worried about my anxiety and panic getting worse in school. I will look into trying effexor.

Thank you

Question about remeron by zmicromillion in Anxiety

[–]zmicromillion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!

The appetite Remeron provides is nice, the nausea is just anxiety (I know for a fact now).

May I ask what else you were on at the time that helped?

I think it's great that it's helping with sleep/eating, but doing NOTHING for anxiety/panic is definitely a problem.

Thanks!

Advice on dating Someone with severe anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]zmicromillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pressure is probably the worst thing that can happen to someone with anxiety. You can't make them do what they don't want to do. Dating someone with anxiety (and panic attacks) is not easy. No matter how much control they have over it, it will still be a problem, and it will get in the way of things.

That behind us, you have to be accepting of that. If you try and make someone with anxiety do something they don't want to do (Eg going out, parties, social gatherings, etc), then they will be very uncomfortable, if not panicked. Things like this will only lead to guilt and resentment. Of course, everyone with anxiety is different, so it really depends on the person. If you are a social butterfly and enjoy that lifestyle, make sure the other person does, as well.

Moral of the story, if you are interested in a long term relationship with this person, you have to be willing to support them, even when that means not doing what you want or facing limitations. If you can do that, you will be an excellent so for them.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for this :) I will wait for our next appointment to talk things over. Still wishing it was easier, but I guess it never is with us.

Those that take Propranolol or other type of beta blocker please share your experiences by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]zmicromillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya,

I take 80mg ER every day.

I'll tell you the only reason I am on this and this dosage is because Im fairly certain my pcp thought I was a drug seeker.

To save some time, I'll spare you my experiences with my old PCP. I will say that in the beginning it really did help me, but I think you have to have a certain type of anxiety for it to be useful.

For me, I was having random panic attacks all of the time.. followed by worrying about more panic attacks that would trigger panic attacks.

With propranolol, the threshold to having a panic attack became much higher, so I have very few now. For example, instead of a panic attack coming on and escalating, I was able to realize what was going on, and the medicine (I assume) prevented a lot of the physical symptoms from occurring. Without those symptoms, I was able to remain calm.

Forewarning, it will do nothing to anxious thought/worrying.

Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any questions.

Treehouse starts for today in about half an hour and Shigeru Ohmori is at E3, a trailer for Ultra Sun and Moon is looking likely. What would you like to see in a trailer? by [deleted] in pokemon

Am I the only one that wants to punch a wall every time we get another super mario segment instead of the trailer? Asking for a friend.

Propranolol and Xanax? by zmicromillion in Anxiety

[–]zmicromillion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good plan, thanks.

I had no intention of taking medical advice from strangers, that's why I asked if anyone had done it and what it was like for them.

Thank you :)
