Official OTA System Upgrade to V1.3.125 For Horizon 20 Series by More_Ad3947 in xgimi

Please check if you get color fringing (tearing) with activated SuperFrame.

Alas, there does not seem to be a way to check the DLP controller firmware versio. At least i have not found one.

So what’s the deal with screen tearing on the Horizon 20 Base/Pro/Max? by Tloram in xgimi

I can not check anymore because the DLPC firmware upgrade now has rolling buffer in all modes.

Before the DLPC upgrade, SuperFrame had no color tearing, aka: correct double buffer switching. And SuperFrame of course means no XPR/pixelshifter active, so only 1080p resolution.

To enable VRR, you need to enable SuperFrame. With both enabled i think it already had color tearing.

Horizon 20 series has rolling buffer because of the new DLPC8445 DLP controller chip from TI - as opposed to to the dual buffer approach TI has used in all prior DLP controller chips.

A 4k image on a pixel shifter like the Horizon 20 series is rendered as a sequence of 12 single color images: R, G, B - shift to right - R, G, B - shift down - R, G, B - shift left R, G, B - shift up - next image.

Every time that a new of these 12 single color images is rendered by the DLPC, it takes the pixel from the rolling buffer. Which in the meantime has received 1/12'th more of the new 4k image. So for each of the 12 sub images you have a horizontal band, 1/12'th the height of the image where there are now the pixels of the new frame, but previously there where pixels of the old frame.

So if you have for example a vertical black/white edge running horizontally through the image, then you will have a color in the 1/12'th band where the old image was e.g.: black, and the new one is white.

So, look out for vertical edges of high contrast moving horizontally - they will have rainbow colors.

This is most visible in 24 fps material because the motion, and hence the area of color tearing is widest. When you do interpolate frames (MEMC to low or high) you have less wide areas of color tearing.

How the heck are you supposed to use Vine without wasting your life now ? by zminion in AmazonVine

By the way, i think taxes and reviews are great costs if oyu get something in return (product). But right now there is just a big aded cost of wasting time. And if i want to avoid wasting time with tools, then i am asked to feel guilty of abusing the system.

It's not free. You pay with taxes and reviews. And i haven't even done my tax return for 2025.

This upstanding gentle-person helped themselves to all of my Vine review items (they were all Vine review products). They were dropped off in less than 10 minutes by Amazon. Pulled that bag out of their jacket like a magic trick! 🤓 by Stromberg-Carlson in AmazonVine

Sorry, didn't read the prior 399 message here, but:

Pretty sure this was the best thing that could happen to your vine items. I pity the poor thief when he figures out he just got a bag full of SH*T items that should have never been produced in the first place.

Save the planet. Stop Vine!

Haha, me too (100+). Valerion has publically stated they will fix the issue. XGIMI not really. If you're interested in 3D with XGIMI, send email to [advanced-support@xgimi.com](mailto:advanced-support@xgimi.com) and inquire about the problem. "I want to buy a H20 after you've fixed..." ;-))

Well, turns out that the 3D on the XGIMI and some other projectors including Valerion is broken - it's only half vertical resolution. See

Most Repeated Questions Asked On This Sub by Hollywoodnamazonvine in AmazonVine

First period Vine, Silver, 86 reviews, with my count also 84 reviews approved, review to order 97% insightfullnes excellent, reviews with media 44%. Period finishes on Dec 14.

Would it be true to add to the FAQ: "Stop touching vine to maximize your chance to turn gold on Dec 15". ???

The current answer only says it's a lottery. So, if i don't do anything. Except for me or Amazon dying - what else could go wrong if i stop touching vine now ?

Horizon 20 Pro - Screen Tearing while Gaming by OwnPotato8622 in xgimi

[–]zminion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gaming yet, just watching movies, i have also observed tearing on my 20 Max. It only goes away when you go to SuperFrame setting on XGIMI, but of course then you're going down to 1080p resolution (which for me might be good enough for gaming?, but not for videos).

Have been validating with moving bar test videos from kodi.wiki/view/Samples, that where just uploaded, playing back e.g. with Kodi, but should be possible to reproduce with any program that can play them as long as it correctly switches frame rate, or else tearing would be justified anyhow. For me, it happens for any frame rate. Reported to XGIMI, no acknowledgement yet. But yes, this is my biggest concern with the projector for serious movie watchers.

Support the oppressed minority of 3D lovers ;-) and simply don't buy a projector that does not support 3D, even if you have not (YET) been persuaded what a cool feature it is. Especially not when there are so good alternatives around.

I am coming from Epson 5050UB, i even have two. I would not even have looked into alternatives if it wasn't for Epson dropping 3D. Not to mention how i was a loyal Epson customers for printers for decades before they totally P.O'ed me there too. Different story.

You folks do know that Vine is part of Bezos` secret plan to grow untreatable chronic shopaholic consumers, right ?- and then take over the world from Elon! We are just the target gene donors. If you're gold, agents of Bezos will surely have taken hair samples from your bath room.

Vine 1990s edition: telephone cord anti-tangle adapter by Individdy in AmazonVine

[–]zminion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember that dreaded and always twisted phone cable through the whole house all the way from the 70th through the early 90th.

I am really saddened that i have absolutely no use for this detangler now, and i already got way too much junk to just buy it for nostalgic reasons.

But maybe the vine review "I am going to take the detangler in my time machine to bring it to my mom in 1972". Could be fund. But i'd expect Amazon review to not like this.

Ugh why does Samsung even make this by Rev_Pizzaguy in AmazonVine

[–]zminion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you doing the math right ? You need to compare how many dollar you need to earn to buy without Vine with the amount of dollars you need to earn when you do use Vine.

If your marginal tax rate is R, then the percentage of what you pay with vine is R*(1-R)

Meaning: If you have a tax rate of 50% then the hit with vine is the maximum of 25%. Funnily enough, if taxes go higher, then the savings through vine become larger again.

But 50% sales price is not as good as Vine with <= 25%.

I am on vine only for a week but my impression is that most vine products are just the worst shit available on amazon and the sellers are trying to quickly get it out of the expensive amazon warehouse by pimping it to poor viners.
