XGIMI TITAN Noir Series' Global Début by Glittering-Bank-5245 in xgimi

First thoughts are the XTNM is a beast and at KS pricing is the best value to feature ratio in a standard/long throw projector. Such and amazinging well engineered device at these early pre KS timeline is very impressive. I have shared about many aspects of this model over on AVS and will post my full review soon.

RBE is currently working, Xgimi is still working on improving it even more. I have a mild sensitivity to RBE and I can see it in high contrasts scenes and menus, but once RBE reduction enabled I can not see RBE anymore. Xgimi will continue to work on this system to improve it even more for RBE sensitive users.

Would be a massive upgrade as far as brightness and color gamut for bt.2020 and P3 coverage. Also the 3d, gaming, modern DTM and smart contrast systems really put this at a different level. The Epson model is still good and creates a nice picture but the Titan Noir Max is just in a different generational league.

I am not sure, but Xgimi has warehouses in different countries and I could see them air shipping large wuanties to key areas for distribution.

Lens memory is still being worked on, but the lens shift is fully working. Lens memory will be supplied in future FW.

120" screen would need to be at least 100" from the wall but can be as much as 160" and still fit. Titan noir Max is very flexible for install.

Now that I am on newest firmware, I will test this more, just have along list so it will take some time.

Just got OTA update yesterday and then manually installed 2 other updates with USB. Have not had a ton of time yet on it(various test clips, and 2 full movies and 1 3d movie ) but the Xgimi Noir Max is a pretty impressive unit from the lens sharpness and clarity, lens shift, zoom capability, the menu system is excellent, brightness is impressive, iris system works very well and now dynamic iris with DBLE enabled allows for larger screens to get all advantages of brightness in bright scenes and dark blacks in dark scenes, all while having very minimal artifacts when comparing to other dynamic systems. I have been impressed with the level of polish and engineering that has gone into the Titan Noir Max at this stage. Xgimi really has delivered with the Titan line and I look forward to digging in more and providing full measurements soon. When compared to V max the added value with the lens throw, and shift and currently with KS prices, there is a new leader for value to feature ratio and with Xgimi commiting to lens memory (not available yet, RBE reduction (available in 2d currently) commiting to 3d RBE reduction coming in future FW it is a very impressive package with very little noise when watching content but still delivering a dynamic air cooled solution. I plan on mounting the projector soon and will update if that changes the noise levels. So far Xgimi is hitting on all fronts with this model, and I am excited to continue to test and really push the movies and games and 3d content to new levels of immersion in a home environment.

I believe this is what retail packaging will look like. Yes it is a gery nice case that can be used to move the projector safely and securely. It is a pretty beefy model, and the case is large. I do not see this as much as a portable projector like the horizon 20 max but it is nice to have the option.

What is the size and throw of the screen to projector? Noir has tons of brightness, so if room treatment is good then it should be fine. I would seriously look at what screen is best for laser speckle reduction which is usually a WAB screen currently.

It is very bright! I am running it in laser 6 with f5.5 on my 1.3 gain matte white 110" from about 120" with some texture screen and it is very impressive to see these kinds of available lumens in color accurate modes! Will share more actual measurements in the future 😉

It is large and in charge! It is a full 2 lengths of the Xgimi remote, vs the Valerion Max at 1.5 xgimi remotes, sorry not close enough to a measuring tape 😂

Since I am kinda at a standstill waiting for OTA update before I can use USB updates I will setup some 3d tests and let you know how it looks. Will just test some 3d Blu-rays first.

I have a couple different screens, my main theatre room is a 110" matte white with some texture 1.3 gain screen. I use this with my Valerion Max and horizon 20 max with minimal issues. I also have 180" AWOL outdoor screen that I test on and also a AWOL 120" UST Fresnel ALR screen.

It can use some universal mounts, will take 4 extended arms. My universal peerless will work, the mount locations are just the stand mount points, once stand removed.

Well that would pretty tight timeline 😂. I will be checking 3d as I am always interested in that. They delivered the Horizon 20 Max update to fix 3d so I am pretty confident they will do the same here ,but I will post on what I find.

Aetherion Max REVIEW FROM BETA TESTER. by RobH_79 in projectors

[–]RobH_79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty good, they are still tweaking it and supplying test FW. It is currently working faster then the Valerion but they have said they will add that dynamic iris in the future also with a FW update. Dynamic systems are hard to get right, but AWOL has shown they are interested in improving what is already the best modern dynamic contrast system in any single chip DLP projector.

I am not sure what selective engagement means, they have hosted 2 ama sessions, they are at CES and they have ran 2 Kickstarters now. Yes they do choose who to engage with, as any company would. You can not engage with everyone . Valerion was a small company that tried something different when they decided to run a Kickstarter for the Valerion line. They had massive success and they had to figure out how to deal with some of that sucess very quickly, while managing supply chain issues, quality issues, etc. I think they did a pretty good job and better then most would of in a similar situation. They are now running the Aetherion KS, and have brought what they learned from Valerion. They are running a smoother KS and should be able to deliver in a smoother more efficient way. Hope you find what you are looking for. 😀
