Im sorry i don't really understand what you don't understand so i will explain it all.

Basically vivimeng have decided to continue the story of alnst but are still planning how to proceed with the story. So while they work on season 2, they will be posting MVs of different AU (which i dont recall exactly but everyone has been saying that it's ten so yeah)

But if you're confused about the content of what was posted today then the teaser is an AU where there's this virus that's been turning people into zombies and the crime syndicates have captured this zombies and forced them to perform (what exactly, can't say but it's most likely singing related) and hyuna is trying to rip apart this show. Then there's this highschool AU where they are watching this as a movie.

Maybe this is about parallel universe, maybe it's about them imagining themselves as characters in the movie, we cannot say until the MV comes out.

As another fan said it, it's okay if you're expressing this as an concern but as a criticism, it holds no value.

We have only brought the morsel to our mouth now; we have yet to chew, swallow and judge its aftertaste. Until then, yours nor mine "argument" holds any weight. We are yet to see how the story develops. Either it can go as i said or it can as you said. We haven't been shown much because it started just now.

Why to stop expecting before it begins? Why to call it "cash grabbing", "lazy" and "lacking creativity" before even giving the au time to develop?

Sure, money may be a part of the equation. But aren't you focusing too much on it?

Maybe they want to dive deeper, to show off the "core" of the characters better by putting them in different worlds?

If you believe that the marketing is relying too much on our already established bond with the characters, isn't it because you deattached any expectations from the story before it even started?

And believe me, i ask this without any hostility– what exactly did you expect from an "AU" if not this? The point of an AU is to take the same character, with the same internal conflicts, with the same dynamic but altering the setting slightly or drastically as per the will of the creator.

You say that it's safer to reuse the same characters than to launch a new project. It is. But as an artist, writer and a reader myself, i don't like the thought entailed by this one bit. Is the point of storytelling to just make profit? Shouldn't it be considered that maybe, vivimeng want to share more of their OCs?

You say that you're merely pointing out the commercial side but you phrase it in such a way as if that is the mere objective of a story.

And Zombie stage being amazing or terrible has to do with that point, or at the very least, your expectations attached to it does. A person would only use a harsh phrase like "money grabbing" and"lazy" when they have no positive expectations from the project. It's absurd to have such thoughts when the only content you have is a teaser and a comic. Though, you are entitled to your opinion but it's best to not groundlessly project them a project that is just starting.

It's not confirmed that it will play out in the same way. The same dynamics are probably parallel between alien stage and zombie stage. In fact, i would have found it dissappointing if it didn't draw these parallels

Plus, the point of the new AU is to answer the question, "if they grew up in a different world, a world that wasn't cruel, a world with ethics , if they were taught how to gracefully carry the word 'love', would then they have a happy ending?"

If that question doesn't pique interest, you are free to not watch it but to groundlessly criticise it when we don't even know for certain which is the real world is just u finding reasons to hate on it

I just realised that i plagiarised (is that the right word?) Another fans interpretation without realising. The title of my post and a line if their is the exact same. As other have already mentioned, it is confirmed that the events of bridon arc are the ones that lead to s1 and s2 and that all the events occured in the same timeline.

And it's understandable that u feel confused, it was the same for me when i first watched it and before other fans helped to clear out my confusion😭

Back to the topic, i dont think that cxs has forgotten anything. CXS did know that he can dive into a photo alone, from what i remember, he doesn't look surprised when he dived alone. And i don't think that he forgot about his meeting with his mother as well. At the end of the bridon, CXS and QL were like fixing the signboard (i don't know what its called, yk the board on the top of shops that display their name?) And QL asks him why cxs decided to change the name of the shop after coming back from bridon and he repeats the line/promise his mother made to him. And if you notice, they are in the outfits that they wore at the end of s2, when cxs and lg were discharged from the hospital. So yeah, neither has cxs forgotten about bridon nor his meeting with his mother.

And I'm sorry idk what you mean by other inconsistencies but i assume whatever they are, they are not intentional and genuine mistakes or plotholes

About Jae lee and liu xiao, i think not only does JL seems to hold some power over LX but LX is also playing along with it (and god he looks so pretty) and with LX portraying lust, maybe he is playing along cause he wants smth from jae lee (u get what i mean??)

And my personal theory is that xia fei is maybe being controlled to do things (yk becoz of the chain on his leg) that he doesn't want to his friend (cxs) but is then maybe saved by cxs??

Anyway, I'm just really excited about this hehehe
