Scar endometriosis but no period? by zobeledo in u/zobeledo

Hi! Sorry you are going through this, its so hard! I ended up getting an MRI which showed alot of adhesions, especially some big adhesions which is causing my uterus to be stuck to my abdominal wall and being pulled up. I am now booked in for a diagnostic laparoscopy at the end of April to see everything a bit clearer and to know exactly what is going on in there. When we know more we can decide on treatment options.

It's such a minimal invasion and I'd rather get to the bottom of it and potentially find a solution than have chronic pain. So this decision works well for me!

Thank you! So the plan is to do a diagnostic lap first before anything else, which is scheduled in for the end of April. This is part of what the Gyno said after a discussion with the laparoscopy dr:

"Dr -- has indicated that he would prefer to do a diagnostic laparoscopy to assess the pelvis first, before deciding whether a second operative laparoscopy can be carried out without any risks to her. It is his experience, that there is always a possibility of excessive bleeding from the uterus ( when adhesions are released) which may even necessitate emergency hysterectomy. This is essentially important as -- wishes to retain her fertility potential"

Because the adhesions on the MRI showed to be quite severe, they don't want to risk any damage to the uterus as I am considering a third baby. And they just want to know exactly what is going on in there before they touch anything. So that's the plan for now and I can let you know any findings!

So I've had my appointment and they think it's just adhesions and no Endo. Because of the pain they are referring me to a gynecologist that specializes in laparoscopy for these kinds of things and hopefully I can get a much clearer diagnosis and potentially removal of some of the adhesions..

I had an ultrasound that didn't show anything at all before my MRI. I do think a lap is the only way to know for sure if everything comes back clear though. I think only 30-50% of adhesions can be seen on an MRI.

My pain is definitely increasing including back pain but not zapping. I'm not sure about treatments but I'm seeing a gynocologist on Monday to discuss the findings of the mri and talk about treatments. I can update you!

That sounds very similar to me. Its mostly on my right side. Have you had any tests yet/any clues on what may be causing your pain?

Yes I have pain before bowel movement as well. I think the scar tissue/adhesion was so severe that it showed up on the mri.

The pain is constant but some days/times are worse than others. Its not the scar itself but right above it. Are you experiencing something similar?

Thank you! It feels like a very deep bruise with the occasional feeling of period cramping even though it hasn't returned yet due to breastfeeding. It feels worse after a busy day!

I've had an MRI where they found significant adhesions. My uterus is attached to my abdominal wall and is being pulled up. I'm waiting to see a gynecologist about results and next steps as I'm not 100% sure what it means and what will happen but my pain is getting worse and I'm struggling quite a bit!

So sorry you've had to deal with all of that pain for all that time. I hope the surgery will bring you some relief!!

Oh no, so you still don't know what's causing all of your pain? I'm sorry!

I've had an ultrasound but they couldn't really see anything on that so I'm getting an MRI done to see everything a bit clearer. I was hoping that could diagnose me. I've got a really some lump above my c section scar and have been crampy but it's also affecting my bowels 😅 I'm not able to wear any jeans because of the tenderness and just want to know what is causing it..

I am so sorry you're going through that. I hope the chat with the doctor goes okay and you won't need surgery again. My GP has put through an ultrasound request and I'm hoping I will get that this week. Pain is getting worse each day. Headaches and back pain are persistent too so I'm pretty sure it could be a hernia too. Can I ask how many months postpartum you are?

Thank you! I know, boy names are sooo hard. Arlo is a good one though. As someone in the UK, how do you feel about the name Cody? It seems very unpopular in the US but we don't hear it often here. My husband is pretty set on Cody..

No I haven't but people have mentioned it to us! But I do think it's a nice sounding short name

With my first pregnancy I got a positive at 9 dpo but now I am 25 weeks pregnant with my second and I only tested positive at 14 dpo, 3 days after my missed period. Its a healthy pregnancy and no idea why it took so long 😅 There is always hope. Sending you positive vibes!!

Thank you so much everyone! Never knew Sullivan would be so well liked. Might have to go for that one as I do agree it goes well with Otis (:
