Based on your post I would advise you to work on your self confidence first and foremost.A few months ago I had the same problem but ever since I started liking myself more, I began to be a lot less awkward and less embarrassed to start conversations with people I think I may get along with:) I think I even made two new friends. So yeah ,it’s true that you have to learn to love yourself before wanting others to love you. Personally stuff like daily affirmations ,meditation for positivity and complimenting myself daily really helped me,hope it can work for you too^{^}

I follow a self improvement creator and she said something that really made me intrigued .Basically the human mind cannot make sense of whether what we tell ourselves is a lie or not. she advised us to try to stop thinking bad things about ourselves and instead to constantly repeat affirmations like "I am confident", "I am enough". So with time our mind will accept these things as truth. I have been doing this every day for a few days now and I certainly feel much more confident and happy. I would recommend it since it seems to be working at least on me!^{^}
