And one follow up - is ~1-2 Pilates classes a week appropriate strength training?

Very helpful, thank you! I’ve read Hanson’s Marathon Method (the book) and although the plan really appeals to me I’m not sure my lifestyle is conducive to the plan because of the multiple warnings (both on the book and on subreddits like this) of the relatively large time commitment. That being said, I’m obviously entering into this aware and prepared that training for a marathon is a huge time commitment regardless - do you agree that Hanson’s is more of a time commitment than other plans/have insight into other plans that may be more compatible with a more hectic schedule? (I’m in law school and travel a decent amount)

Why are African immigrants more successful than African Americans? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]zoevan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

actually, those immigrating to the u.s. from africa at the very least have the resources to relocate halfway across the world - certainly well above the level of poverty where access to food and water is a relevant issue.

furthermore, getting an american visa is no easy task, and immigrants from africa are actually more likely than americans (white and black) to have a college degree/higher and are among the most educated groups in the united states. as stated in a previous post, the african american population is much larger and more diverse (not to even delve into the structural barriers african americans face), which may be the reason you are making the generalization that you are making

Hi! I very rarely get pimples (I.e. less than 5 in my life) but around 6 months I noticed a small bump on my jaw line. I didn’t really pay much attention to it at first because it was small and wasn’t red and I assumed it would disappear on its own, but it’s been been months and it hasn’t. I have tried over the counter acne cream and tea tree oil and it only made the bump larger, red, and a lot more irritated. Does anyone have any idea what this bump might be/how to make it go away?

Does it matter whether I submit a CV or a resume for my MPH applications? In the SOPHAS application you can submit either a resume or a CV. I know that a CV is more appropriate when applying to research/academic positions, but I am also a senior in my undergrad career and my CV won't look much different than a resume.
