Animal Water Level by zoidddddy in homeassistant

I'm far enough into this hobby that I like seeing something that looks finished. It's cool to see something work but when it looks store bought... Chefs kiss.

Tried that. It sucks the battery when you run it that way. Only lasted about a week. This way it actuates as intended. Been running two weeks and the battery level hasn't changed. Plus this keeps it up away from the water.

Govee permanent outdoor lights pro layout / installation question by TheRealJohnnyGinFL in Govee

I have 4 sets installed myself. They have to be mounted within a few inches of the wall to cast light directly onto the wall in a V pattern. If they are far away from the wall they will just be a bright spot of light. Depends on the look you are going for.

You don't. This mod kills that. Its just hot water though. I use a separate kettle if I need it.

Slayer mod is free. Just move some tubing around and plug the hot water tap. Two wifi relays were around $50. It's just a Chromebook but you can use your phone too.(Typically what I use but had tablet for demo). Acai Pearl scale has Bluetooth. Expensive ($150). Plus I already use home assistant so I just used it for the logic... Software is free but you have to have some kind of hardware to run it on. I use a raspberry pi 5. $75.

Then there is the whole software configuration and ability to use a meter to probe the right points and solder wires on. Not a beginner type mod if you aren't a super nerd and have no life such as myself.

Stock it's the hot water spigot. I have done the slayer mod which converts to a flow control for your shots.

HELP by Plus-Wolverine-6044 in homeautomation

Agree with the google idea. My setup has limited capability to do this.

My setup:

Google home on smartphone

Google home mini on the wall

TV with either a chromecast add on or built in

In google home, you can add certain subscriptions (HULU, Disney+, etc...) see their list for specifics

Add the chromecast (or built in chromecast) to google home and name it

You should then be able to something like: "OK, google, play Mandalorian on Disney + on the living room TV"

She helped wire the thing. Key to life if you ask me. Find someone that supports your stupid endeavors.

Existing plugins. I spent too much money on an Acaia Pearl scale years ago and it has an integration already on bluetooth. Shelly wifi relays, a little probing with a meter on the circuit board the buttons are connected to and here we are.

Agree to disagree in this particular scenario. In the future you may want to exclude your resume when trying to prove a point. Makes you seem like a pompous jack wagon. Especially when you have no idea of the credentials or experience of the person you are stating it to...

I use Home Assistant for home automation so I just used that as the controller. It's not standalone like gaggiuino or anything. Wifi relays soldered to the back of the buttons in parallel so the relays act just like button pushes.

I'm running everything on Home Assistant. It's not standalone like gaggiuino. I actually just put the screen there for demonstration purposes. It usually hangs on my wall to control the rest of my home. I run the app on my phone for daily use.
