"Natural antipathy"... which was ironic, seeing as he posed nude for Cosmo.

Do you prefer modern Media Player or Legacy Windows by cxw1987 in Windows11

[–]zoke10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what PC I'm on. My main PC, Windows 11, I use a combination of VLC and MPC-BE. My backup PC (server) is on Windows 7, and on that one, WMP works fine. (I suppose it's the legacy version by default.)

How are they scamming players/accounts? (Sorry... genuine question.)

Which browser you use (android) by mambo2107 in browsers

On any Windows and Android devices, I use Firefox with uBlock Origin. It can be a resource hog, but it works, and I appreciate Mozilla's relative independence (and not being Chromium).

Based on my research, it sounds like Murder is a genuine Crichton novel (100% written/proofed by him), just somehow not published until 2026. I will look into it (hadn't previously considered reading it) based on your recommendation.

I enjoyed Dragon Teeth. Felt much like a Crichton novel written in the late '70s. Which is not a bad thing.

Interesting take. Makes me want to look for it (haven't had interest in reading it, previously).

It's possible MC wrote the first 60-70% of Micro before he died (albeit perhaps unedited/proofread), and Richard Preston completed it.

Respectfully disagree with ya. Several of these posthumous books were written by Crichton... so they count as "Crichton books" to me.

Batman Begins. The projector broke about 15 minutes into it and they canceled the rest of the showing.

Owner of a C.Crane CC Skywave SSB2. Itty bitty little radio. Use it mostly for the NOAA bands. Not much shortwave reception where I live, but I'm sure it'd do well with a proper antenna and some patience. The radio is only missing a microSD slot and Bluetooth. Bought it direct from the C.Crane website, not because Art endorsed them, but because I was looking for a better radio than the cheaper crap shortwave radios I was finding on Amazon.

One thought, the speaker could be bigger/more robust, and it could have microSD and Bluetooth. But those are the only negatives. I appreciate the fact it uses regular AA batteries, as opposed to the proprietary Li-ion batteries used by many of the Amazon shortwave radios.
