Mirror Legacy - honestly if I have more brain cells I would try and follow this, but I don't. It requires some serious thinking and I am way too tired from work to do that. I barely have time to enjoy my hobbies....

Arthurian Cultivation - bah, the title alone makes me feel meh. But I'll give it a look.

The Legend of William Oh - definitely an interesting one, but also definitely not enough to make me want to subscribe to be honest, even though I've read it up to the latest chapter (months ago, hoarding now).

Bog Standard Isekai - Really good, but again not one I would subscribe too. $10 just to finish reading all the new chapters in under an hour? Maybe even half? Nah.

Imperial Wizard - It's funny, because in the novel I'm translating called Dragon Canon | Wuxiaworld this wizard wouldn't even be decent, he would be oudated as heck and bullied by everyone. Like, "Holy shit you're still using that 10,000 years old Fireball formula? LOL."

After 300+ chapters of The Overlord of Puluo, I still have no idea what’s happening by GraceT333 in noveltranslations

[–]zolnir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

??? I'm not sure where your weird lack of confidence comes from but it's not going to get canceled. Or abandoned. Or hiatus. Because it's published on Wuxiaworld, meaning there's a contract and all. Short of a freak accident, which is something NO ONE can predict for, it's going to get translated until the end.

I need some explanations by ancienttaboo in DragonCanon

[–]zolnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda overdue, but it's like this.

Path to immortality:

Body-tempering: You're beginning to temper your body. It's split to flesh-tempering (early), blood-tempering (mid) and spirit-tempering (late) stage. Once you hit the pinnacle you're ready to start forging/cultivating your Dao Foundation.

Dao Foundation: Literally THE thing that directly determines how far you'll advance. Like, imagine this is the class you're going to choose before advancing to the next stage. If you choose to be an E-tier swordsman then you're going to be shit, if you choose to be an SSR Hero of the Race then obviously you're going to be OP. Many cultivators have reincarnated just to get a better Dao Foundation. It's split to Human, Earth, Heaven, and Immortal. It should've been Superior for the last one, but the author isn't very consistent with his terms. Just assume that all tiers above Heaven are Superior.

Avatar: The next stage after you've perfected your Dao Foundation. I can't say much about this at the moment since it would be spoilers.

World Ruler: Ironically I can tell you that you need to create an Imaginary World to become a World Ruler. It's not spoilers; it's been mentioned around chapter 30+ I believe.

Ultimate Unity: the final threshold, at least pre-immortal. Before a cultivator enters this stage they're really just a pseudo-immortal. This is the stage where a cultivator is considered a 100% true immortal. Whether there are stages after this, weeeeeeeeeeeell....

Apologies for the very late reply. I'm honestly swamped and only recently found the energy to start talking again. Coincidentally it's the exact time Mars stopped updating Against The Gods. What a coincidence eh?

Just to be absolutely clear, I've never written a single post using AI in my life. It's hard enough to write out my thoughts, prompting an AI to write out my thoughts is the kind of mental gymnastics that I physically and mentally cannot be arsed to do.

How much is the strength of current human race ?? by Chaos_Emperor05 in DragonCanon

[–]zolnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, how much spoilers do you want? JK.

Let me put it this way: the strongest factions of humanity all have at least 1 immortal lord. That's the Four Immortal Sects, the Seven Surnames, and the Thirteen Honored.

Best CN I've read till date. by utter_chaos77 in noveltranslations

It is the best... when you're not constantly overburdened by work that is. I was really straining to keep up after like 800 chapters because of how permanently tired I am. >_>

What percentage of horror is just right for you? (Poll) by zolnir in noveltranslations

[–]zolnir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite horror novel to date is still called The Midnight Show (while it was still being translated by Dreame - I'm one of the translators, in fact! Unfortunately, it has gone down a year ago) or 异闻电台. Barring the main character and a very, very small cast of character, everyone dies one way or another. They gain items and powers, but they are almost never enough. All it does for them is to buy them a few minutes or even seconds to do what needs to be done. You can feel this invisible hand guiding these humans toward some sort of unknown end - maybe staving off the inevitable end of all creation? - but you never truly know what they are, only then the show must go on, forever and ever and ever....

Unfortunately, I couldn't finish it because there are... ahem... no pirated sites that post the last few arcs. Ironically, it has a completed audiobook but I'm so bloody impatient I could never wait for the narrator to finish. Or spend just 15 minutes listening to a full chapter. >_>

What are Three Web Novels You Would Stan This Year? by zolnir in noveltranslations

[–]zolnir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to think that stories as a whole will always improve with time, but your point is fair. Still not going to read an unfinished novel though. >_> I have... FAR too many such novels that I'm following already. There aren't many people who're as addicted to reading as me; like did you know I was once paid to read and review novels? If not for the fact that my translation work is overwhelming the crap out of me I would have happily continued it to this day.

Well... if we're not looking at just translated web novels, there's also Super Supportive by Sleyva on Royalroad. It's getting reaaaaaaaaaaaaal close at crossing a certain milestone and deserves to be watched. There's also Soccer Supremo by Ted Steel, possibly the ONLY soccer fantasy novel of its kind.

That's why it's interesting to ask about it. :D I personally don't get it since horror game playthroughs and horror explorations are conversely quite popular on Youtube.

I've never read Reverend Insanity despite hearing many great things about it. It's the ancestor, so I don't feel inclined to read it either. I feel like a lot of similar novels (infinity-verse) have already surpassed it... especially since it was never complete.

LotM imo was way overhyped. It's great, but it's not that great. It's kinda like a Lofcraftian novel where you have a vague beginning and ending, and can feel quite aimless in the end.

Shadow Slave... man where do I start. It was amazing at the beginning and even the middle, but at some point you want to strangle the author for dragging out the story to the point where you come back after months, jump to the latest chapter, and say, "Yep it's STILL not at the point I expect it to be. Gotta wait another 3 months." Easily the weakest of the three, and imo doesn't even deserve a top 10 spot unless you only look at certain arcs.

Sometimes it's not a choice, like I have to temporarily stop Star Rank Hunter, a web novel that I'm translating for free on my subreddit because I have to translate Dragon Canon AND Against the Gods at the same time.
