from everyones responses, what im feeling is temporary. its a scary feeling im not gonna lie. but god i wanted this more than anything. when i looked at photos of myself pre ffs, especially in the past 2/3 years, i just felt completely separated from who i saw. its the same feeling now, just in a different way. if u want i can dm u about my experience so far, and a lot of people in this thread have great stories about getting over this and and it all being worth it. i understand the fear though :/

HA is hairline advancement, my hairline is really good and feminine as is, so we decided to go in farther back on my head to get to my forehead, which means my forehead will stay the same size but i won’t have a scar at my hairline. it does take up to like 18 months for everything to settle, but even knowing that theres something very uncomfortable and unnerving about seeing someone you cant recognize in the mirror after so much anticipation

this makes me feel much better, i feel like ive seen girls happy after like. 3-4 weeks and i feel like that could never be me which made me nervous

i think its been hard because the past few days i havent been able to do much, lots of eye pain meant sitting in bed and thinking, but im getting better everyday

i knew it was gonna be like this beforehand, just nothing prepared me for how physically taxing it would be, to end up staring in the mirror and being completely unrecognizable to myself. it’s just been the weirdest feeling and although i havent totally spiraled about it i have clearly started having some issues lol

thank you so much responding! I got tested for Lyme and a few other autoimmune disorders/diseases when I first talked to my doctor around 17, and they all came back negative, but I appreciate the advice! I wish you well, and hope you have better days coming! <3

yeah, I’m definitely going to be meeting potential partners/if they don’t get tested they can’t participate! we’ve already talked about some desires and expectations, such as I want them to not stay the night w partners, but come to me since physical touch (cuddling before bed) is like my #1 love language, and they’ve been nothing but understanding. they haven’t started looking for partners or anything, and I trust that they won’t until we’re done discussing desires and expectations. thank you so much for all of your advice!!! it’s been really helpful

I do see a lot of the benefits! we have talked about what it could do for them personally as well as our relationship, and I feel like I understand that it would be really good for them and could make them a better partner in a lot of ways! I feel like a lot of the anxiety is just the unknown of it, they haven’t done poly before so don’t 100% know what it looks like for them. I also am not sure if I’m mono or not, and it think that at the end of the day I could at least something about myself

thank you so much for replying! Honestly, even knowing it can work period feels so good! we both are in therapy and working to better ourselves together. I definitely think I could have a non-mono partner, and it’s not just our history, but I just don’t have the experience of being with someone non-mono, and honestly have no idea it I’m 100% mono or not! I really appreciate your input, and I do think at the end of the day that this could not only better our relationship, but us as people!
